As a service to Free Republic (and the cause of Truth, Freedom, and National Security) it is my pleasure to synopsize-translate-comment, link to the original report, and pass on to you a quite interesting report today from Tokyo, Japan. This comes through the services of Fuji Television (FNN News). It has to do with internal Communist Korean Worker's Party government documents smuggled out of North Korea which seem to show an increasing level of internal concern and nervous tension over a break up of public order (i.e. 'loss of control') and decline in socialist thought-control over average North Koreans.

This may explain exactly why Kim Jong-il appears to be acting uncharacteristically bold these days, and that brinksman North Korea seems intent to "go for broke" as perhaps there seems to be few options left for the cruel despots clinging to state-terror power.

You raised the important point. Russia strayed because Russia did not heed Solzhenitsin's advice. I hope that N. Koreans hopefully heed his words over stupid liberals from S. Korea and all over the world, swarming in the guise of saving people.

The best way to heal the trauma of N. Koreans is to send in religious groups of various stripes to take over humanitarian efforts.

Filling the spiritual void is as important as filling hungry stomaches. That has been overlooked in the aftermath of Eastern Europe. The trauma of that level is not healed just by warm and fuzzy liberal approach and sacks of grain .

Very interesting read. Hopefully it is good news, but I cannot help but to read this and view it in the same terms as many of the dictates issued by another regime that patterned itself after North Korea - the Democratic Republic of Kampuchea (Cambodia under Pol Pot). There is a haunting similarity between this dictate and many of the documents out of the Indochina nation, and in the latter instance it was a precursor to violent purges throughout the country bearing little resemblance to reason or sanity - all in the name of advancing the socialist order or in weeding out Vietnamese sympathisers.

Personally, I see this document as an excuse by Pyongyang to brutalize the people some more to ensure no one gets out of line in the event of future hostilities that, sadly, may not be that far off (though I do hope they can be averted).

I would hope it presages a disintegration of the Communist regime, but I have a much more sanguine view I'm afraid.
