I know Miguel very well. His wife was my wife's college roomate. Kennedy's statements are absurd and clearly demonstrate that he does not know what he's talking about and that he must have never met Miguel.

Miguel is very soft spoken person and is one of the most pleasant people I know. I have never heard him make a harsh statement. As a lawyer, I can tell you that I would love to have him as a judge in my circuit (the 11th Circuit).

There's an especially warm place in hell for politicians who engage in slander and charater assination!

GO MIGUEL GO!!!

Thank you for your personal insight into this man, that goes beyond the high points of his career which were just shown as a snipe on the C-SPAN coverage of the unofficial filibuster. I love the smell of hypocrisy in the morning.

I brought the same sort of personal experience to my column on Joe Lieberman and John Kerry, both of whom I met as teenagers in college. It's always valuable when Freepers bring to the table personal knowledge that offers insights not available in the sterile, public record.

Thank you for doing that, Counselor.

Thank you, CWW, for helping us understand Miguel Estrada's character from a personal point of view... he sounds gracious, sincere and dedicated. I supported him wholeheartedly up to now based merely on his experience and what has been said of his record... now I am most pleased to support him even further based on his personal qualities.

I'm wondering if down the road there is anything that could be introduced to Congress regarding this idiotic strategy of the filibuster? It really is a ridiculous, undignified manner to conduct legislative activities, in my opinion. I always felt it was a pretty childish-appearing manner to try to obstruct legislation that would should rightly be passed based on our electing representatives to support issues....Just my cranky 2 cents :)

Good luck to Miguel Estrada!!!!

Sounds good, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a temper. I am not foulmouthed at all, am astonishly laid back, and get perterbed only maybe once or twice every few years - usually with good reason. When I am genuinley that angry I am not physically dangerous at all, but let me tell you, everybody knows it and runs for cover.

Sad to say I am sure, wisdom and logic, from someone who knows the man, doesn't matter in this case.
