[history]
At least one taxpayer group plans to launch an effort today to recall Gov. Gray Davis, and other groups are rumbling about trying to oust the governor -- all with the hope that voters' longtime displeasure with him has swelled with the state's budget deficit.

Why? I don't get it. He won an election only a few months ago, he hasn't done anything horrible since then. Yes, the Cali economy and state budget are in a shambles but the people picked, in a free and fair election, Gray to be the Gov. to fix it. I say let him try. This is taking the eye off the ball, in my opinion. Better to have him reign over comming crash and battle of the welfare recipiants than some Republican. IT IS THERE MESS! Let them fix it, or not. The responsibility is so clear at this point the last thing I would want to do is cloud that.
Of course I have the advantage of living in Oregon, and the hope that we can learn from watching the painful mistakes next door. I guess if I (still) lived in Cali I might support this. But probably not. The Dem cancer will only be killed by demonstration of it's failure. Otherwise their rhetoric will win them another day.

Jack, how much are the taxpayers gonna have to take before we all go down the black hole of socialism?

He stole an election with the aid of a biased media turning their eyes the other way as it happened. I am not going to re-count all the scandal and cronyism and shameless pandering he is guilty of, so voluminous an edition, it is.

Of course, your right about that. But that's the new norm in our "mobocracy". I still say let him sweat for a while. It's funny to watch this slime bag, whose entire career is built on giving away other peoples money to buy votes, influence and power suddenly find out that his bank is empty. Let the Dems spend their time on the recall, they are going to need to. Let us focus on something or someone else. How about getting Boxer and Feinstein out of the Senate, for the love of your fellow US citizens?
To: Jack Black
I hear ya, BoXer and ChiFiDi need to go. They are shameless and deserved to be booted from the Senate. The question will be , who will boot them and who do you run? John Campbell, Ahnold, McClintock, Simon?
We'll have a better idea after this whole recall thing plays itself out.
I hate seeing Oregon twisting in the wind as well. Good luck and here's to sanity prevailing in both our states.

I think it would be better to let him stay in office, and be blamed for the mess he and his rat buddies have created. If they got him out, and a Republican took over, it would be too easy to blame them before the next election. Californians are political zombies until it begins to really hurt them, then they pay attention. Allowing Gov. Low Beam to stay builds huge momentum for the next election.

He also knowlingly with-held the truth about the full extent of the state's debts. It was some 45% greater than he had led his followers to believe.

Boy, I'd like to think that it could be done, but I remember the last time.
It is near impossible to recall the governor. I think there is/are better things for us to invest our time and money in. The first thing is to find a candidate for Governor to get behind.
