Don't laugh... if people knew how much coffee your division ordered in a fiscal year, they could make a reasonable guesstimate of how many personnel you have.

If they knew how many Kotex you ordered for the vending machines in the johns, they could guesstimate how many of the personnel were women.

If there is a high female to male ratio, then it can be assumed the division is not a combat division or is not combat-ready.

Certain cleaning supplies in an inventory list can tell people what is going on in your facilities. Lists including industrial solvents and so forth can be very informative, particularly if you're wondering what is being worked on inside this or that building at some secure site.

Apparently innocent bits of information can be useful to an enemy, particularly when combined with other "harmless" leaks.
