As Christians who are deeply concerned about human life, we must do something about the unregulated and unnecessary access to guns.

As a gun owner, I must in turn tell you twits to kiss my pasty rump. Gun violence is a symptom of other problems, and is not the disease itself.

Verily, thou speakest truth. $:-)

It's is a trademark indicator of the liberal mindset to criminalize the symptom while they spread the disease.

Carrying a gun is not necessarily a bad idea if someone wants to avoid an experience like this: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/836425/posts

The leftist looneys in the Methodist church have taken over. It doesn't surprise me at the number of people leaving it and seeking more conservative churches.

Could it POSSIBLY be to bring light to the screwy Methodist policies that many might not be aware of?

I posted an article recently from a current United Methodist newspaper in New Jersey featuring a high ranking cleric of that denomination mugging for the camera and taking creadit for using United Methodist Church resources to help pass New Jersey' notorious "assault rifle ban" and "smart gun law".

I ran a check on a web search engine plugging in "United Methodist Church"+guns and pulled this up.

It appears that even among its fellow looney left-wing "mainstream" Christian sects, the United Methodists are in the forefront of assisting Handgun Control, Ceasefire, and other anti-Constitutionalist groups in forwaring their agenda of totally disarming the law-abiding American Public.

The moral of all this is, if you are a Methodist and a conservative - find another religion.

If you have any conservative Methodist friends - enlighten them as to the activities of their church hieracrchy.

I felt this was particularly pertinent as the United Methodist Church, in the form of one of their Bishops, is presently running T.V. adds opposing U.S. actions in Iraq to prevent Saddam's use of weapons of mass destruction. Apparently, in additon to a gun control agenda, the United Methodists are closet pacifists, as well as opponents of the death penalty. I do know they take no position on abortion - so I guess killing babies is o.k. with them. TYPICAL LIBERALS.

Remember "Friends don't let Friends worship as Methodists - if they can help it."

Gun violence is a symptom of other problems,...

Yeah, something about that little inicident in the Garden of Eden, I think. But I wouldn't expect these people to understand that.

There you go. Mr. Mounoubai states what we here already know full well.

Call me a social Darwinist, but I firmly believe that people who are stupid enough to buy the BS when it comes to the truth about firearms deserve to be meat. The main problem for us is that they want to drag us over the cliff with them.

When I was referring to "mainliners" I mean the leftists of the Epicopalian Church, Presbyterian Church and United Methodist Churches.

As a fundamentalist Protestant, I'm not sure where the Catholic Church stands on private ownership of handguns.
I admire and support their position on baby killers and baby killing and premarital sex. However, I have heard the Pope censured an Italian politician for supporting an American pre-empitve strike on that lunatic Saddam - and that's not good.

" Because the handgun is concealable, it is the weapon of crime..."

And because the keyboard is available, any idiot can write silliness like this.

Allow me to refer them to the Gospel according to Luke (Ch.22): "...And the one who has no sword must sell his cloak and buy one."

Only because Samuel Colt hadn't yet come along!

The religious community must also take seriously the risk of idolatry that could result from an unwarranted fascination with guns and that overlooks or ignores the social consequences of their misuse.

You are the ones who have made the gun into an idol of social maladies in an effort to ignore the causes of their misuse.
