In a day filled with emotions, tributes, and tears, President Bush and First Lady Laura attended the memorial service for the astronauts whose lives were lost in the space shuttle Columbia tragedy on Saturday. The President spoke to the crowd of at least 10,000 teary eyed mourners, and eulogized the Columbia crew. In the closing moments of his speech, Bush spoke to the children of the crew by saying, 'And to the children who miss your Mom or Dad so much today, you need to know, they love you, and that love will always be with you. They were proud of you. And you can be proud of them for the rest of your life.' The First Couple returned to Washington this evening. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya.

God Bless President Bush...I saw that sign on C-span earlier today and it touched my heart...the President said just the right words to touch all of us. We are so proud of him and so sad for the families of those we have lost. When he spoke to the children, I lost it. What a wonderful leader. God bless America.

Thank you God for President Bush. He did an amazing job at the ceremony speaking on behalf of the American nation. I wasn't able to keep my eyes dry, but I just don't know how he does it.

Many, many {{{{hugs}}}} to you and continual prayer. I just answered your post on the earlier thread. I haven't been online much and didn't realize so much was going on in your life.

Rintense, thank you so much. You have a great heart and always know what those of us who love our president would like to see. Thanks for being so sensitive to our feelings and for always knowing the right thing to say.
President Bush spoke so eloquently today and as always, from his heart. What a fitting tribute to these seven heroes. I could not stop crying during the whole hour.
Those poor children. May the Lord give them the comfort only He can give. And may through this tragedy, those who do not know Him, come to know the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

ohio, I know I have told you this already, but it makes me a million times more proud to know that your son is courageously and anxiously waiting to serve our country. You have a brave son with a heart of gold and a deep faith in the Lord. "I got peace like a river!" I love it! God bless.

Wow. You do these things every day? What a cheerleader. Thanks. How great is it to have a man that puts God first, running the country? Thank you heavenly Father. Thank you Jesus. Please give these families strength.

It dawned on me that I've never replied on one of these "day in the life" threads but I read them every day.
Thanks for posting them.

Oh, Ohio, you raised a good kid. What a wonderful thing for a young person to say. God bless and protect you and your family.

Look at his hands. He knows how to pray, and he knows how to give love nd comfort
May the Lord grant him rest this evening. May the Lord grant rest and comfort to the families and friends that are grieving.
What a blessing President Bush is!

Did you all see the president give his hankerchief(sp?) to Rick Husband's little boy? A simple act of a servent.

It's hard not to be a cheerleader when we have such a great man leading us.
