contrary to what most people think, a recall can occur at any time after an election. Oh boy!

What are the odds of getting 1.2M sigs and then getting those 1.2M people to also vote for the recall when it arrives on the ballot? This is very difficult work and requires a plan in advance of going public. What do you know about these folks?

What do you know about these folks? Nothing at all, other that the group was founded by Paul Gann, one of the driving forces behind Proposition 13, and Hedgecock saying that they've been involved in a dozen fights to get measures qualified for the ballot and have succeeded in all cases.
To: anniegetyourgun
I heard it was 675,000 sigs??

I dunno, unless a recall ELECTION is actually successful, my guess is this will do far more harm than good to the GOP.

Where do I sign??????
To: John Jorsett
If Joe Davis signs the bill to triple our vehicle license fees, he should be recalled. If he doesn't sign the bill, I think he should stay in office, to wallow in his own filth.

I heard it was 675,000 sigs?? I believe that's the number required, but they have to gather extra signatures in order to make sure they've got enough valid ones. In efforts past, the California Teacher's Association has even had people purposely sign phoney names so that their signatures would be tossed. Dirty tricks abound in these things.

Pass it on :)
Btw, heard on the radio that the car fee hike is dead in the water. Let the good news keep on coming...

What is it about banzai charges that attracts so many Republicans? Here's the ugly truth: The average California voter wouldn't vote to recall Davis even if he were in their living room searching the sofa's seat cushions for spare change. It ain't gonna happen.
