Exactly. Countries who appreciate the United States liberating them unlike the ungreatful Frogs and Krauts who are only interested in dominating all of Europe.

Let's give the Eastern Europeans some credit. Unlike their Western brethren, they fought for their liberation. Solidarnosc in Poland, the brave Lithuanians who stood up to Gorby's Vilnius Massacre, the Czechs in Wencelas Square, and the Romanians who finally stood up to Ceaucescu. They didn't wait for the Americans to be on the outskirts to start fighting.

Up to 10 east European countries are preparing a declaration of support for President Bush's drive to disarm Iraq, government officials said Tuesday. See, "up to 10" does not mean the same as "exactly 10".
In fact some of those 10 countries have not issued statements in support of any war on Iraq, and probably won't. As for the actual motives of those countries which have issued statements of support, it's interesting that many here at FR see them as nothing short of honorable.
It was really disappointing to see the article failing to make mention of whether Washington could count on support from a number of other allies, such as the Bosnian Muslims or KLA.

The thing is, most of those countries mentioned fought on the side of Germany in not one, but two world wars. Maybe that's not an issue for you, as we know it isn't for the Bush administration (like the Clinton administration). However, it certainly does raise questions over what the US considers an "ally" and what the US considers, for lack of a better word, an "opportunist".
