It´s ashaming that the German Government is not among the first calling to disarm Saddam! France, Britain and the US also helped Saddam building up forces until 1991, but two of them are now trying to make that fault unhappen!

GET RID OF SADDAM - NOW!!

The Germans know that they can't directly murder millions of Jews anymore (in Israel, this time), so they've found a perfect way to get the job done indirectly, without having to take the blame.

Unbelievably, there still exist liberals (and some liberatarians) who believe that German and French resistance to this upcoming battle with Iraq is actually based on their genuine, anti-war principles.

Bookmarked.

This is devastating information.

There should be trials after the war.

We shall see...

Michael, I'm proud of you. You're coming around to see the truth.

Here's a Bad Kreuznach bump. Love those Nahe & Mosel Wines ... especially Bacchus...all the spatlese's.

By the way, France has been doing the same thing. I'm certain they're afraid that when the allies liberate Iraq that we'll find Old Europe fingerprints all over most of the technology there.

They were trying to clandestinely build a counterforce to US domination. It will soon be clear that they have failed.....unless France finds a way to specifically supply a nuke to Iraq.

If somehow the UN remains a viable entity and the Iraq war turns into a nightmare because of attrocities launched by Saddam and the weapons used came from Germany or France I'd love to see Herr Shroeder on trial for his crimes against humanity. Until socialism is defeated once and for all in the west the Germans and French remain a threat to us and our aay of life. This is the secong go round with the Germans, what did it take , some 10 years of freedom and they are back to their old tricks. Justice would be for Germany to be taken over by the Islamics and turned into an Islamic regime and to have the Germans chased out of thier own homeland.

First of all, I didn´t say that the governments knew of these activities. I just say, that they have to fight Saddam.

"They were trying to clandestinely build a counterforce to US domination."

Nonsense, these folks wanted to make money regardless whom they were delivering dangerous materials. And they deserve to go to jail for that!

You left out the part about Nahe & Mosel wines. :>)

In any case, you're being naive. Governments don't just let these things happen. They have purposes for them. You can't possibly believe that companies were selling these dangerous products to the Iraqis and your government didn't know about it. If they knew about it, then why did they let it go forward? It's more than just money for the economy, my friend. They knew it would seriously damage relations with the U.S. if it became public.

Just allow yourself for one moment to imagine: If there were a purpose for Germany to allow WMD sales to Iraq, what would that purpose be?

I think it´s naive the way you´re talking about the German government. Even if the government knew what was going on (you should prove that first), it wouldn´t have caused harm to US-relations, since the US have delivered WMD support to Baghdad in its fight against Kurds and Iran, too.

Note: Germany was a satellite state of the US until 1990.

Please provide evidences to your assumption that the German government knew of the weapons deliveries and that German firms supplied Iraq after 1991. If you can´t, stop attacking the government.

America had no better friend in our Chancellery than Helmut Kohl, after Konrad Adenauer. And Schröder is in office since 1998.

Just read the article.

Do you honestly live in a world where arms and vital technologies sales to enemy states doesn't get noticed by the government?
