Quite true. But don't delude yourself into believing that Hitchens is becoming conservative.

Oh, but there's hope for him yet. His brother Peter was once a marxist too, back in his youth, but he's been on the 'dark side' now for years.

Christopher may yet join him. Keeping my fingers crossed.

The great divide between Hitch and his brother Peter concerns two questions: faith and the Monarchy. Hitch is, unfortunately, a resolute atheist, while Peter is a practicing Catholic. Hitch remains a stalwart republican and believes that the Monarchy should be abolished. Peter Hitchens understands the value of tradition and continuity.

At least both agree on one important thing-both are resolutely pro-war and anti-Jihadist.
