After 7 years as a stay-at-home mom, and a homeschooling mom, I have started a home-based business. My husband's secretary quit working for him a year ago to do this, and is now making 6-figures. After witnessing this for himself, my husband is not being the least bit competitive, rather he is totally encouraging me to GO FOR IT and surpass his salary!!! Yes, there is something in it for him, but he sees that getting out of the house and accomplishing something, meeting other intelligent women, and making a difference in peoples lives is invigorating for me. Any man worth his weight would be supportive of his wife/girlfriend doing something that makes her happy and helps her grow personally. If they are not supportive of this, they are too selfish to marry, IMO. Marriage involves sacrifice of both parties.

My nonchalant attitude? Um... okay. I may seem like i'm joking, but I am very serious about my desire to bear children for my husband. The very act of sex is to potentiate LIFE.. be fruitful and multiply. I plan to take that commandment very seriously. Colonizing is in my family blood. I plan to singlehandedly start the world reconquista by mating like a rabbit with my husband, and bringing them up in the admonition of GOD.

One has to remember that the two happiest days of a boat owners life are the day he buys it, and the day he sells it. Owning a power boat is a lot like standing in a cold shower tearing up fifty dollar bills, and owning a sailboat is a lot like standing in a cold shower tearing up hundred dollar bills

Best thing I ever owned was a boat (and I don't care much for things, so thats saying a lot).

My experience with people who found boating a disappointment is they don't know much about boats, don't want to know much about boats, and buy a mass-produced piece of junk that has the nerve to be called a boat just because it somehow manages to sometimes float.

Don't give up. There are more women than you would think who are enormously generous caregivers, who would understand and hold tremendous respect for you caring for your mother. Not all, but they are out there. In fact some already have, are, or will similarly care for their parents.

Plus, how you treat your mom is a great indicator of how you will treat your wife.

I hope so! It's okay. I am making the best of my single life by helping my mom and going to school. There are some things you can do when you're single, that you can't when you're married. Know what I mean? I'm nice once anyone gets to know me :-)

I think I am one of the few women on this earth who thought that Mrs. Bobbit should have been convicted of attempted murder and mutilation of a human being. SHE SHOULD HAVE GONE TO PRISON. She did it because she was jealous and mad because he strayed from the marriage. Not a good enough excuse.

That's what I did. Didn't find anyone to marry in Texas, but moved to California and met my husband.

He's a freeper too.

Marriage involves a wife's obedience to her husband. The man must be ruler of his household.

But I know this the 21st century America and that means diddlysquat now.

Hey now, would it be possible to kindly rephrase that?!

While I'm at it, could one of you two say "Taste great" a few times, and the other "Less filling"?

A man immediately turned me off when he said he wouldn't allow any dogs to sleep in his bed or stay in the house. Well forget that! I also watch how men treat animals and other defenseless creatures.

I'd have to meet mom anyway. Sometimes MILs can be the future reason a marriage breaks up.

The problem is, are there single guys who are willing to watch a flame turn into a fire?

Yup. Some even understand that tender = tinder.

I really do agree with you (may be easy for me to say because I've never been married) but you'd better have on an asbestos suit, even on FR.

I admire you for sticking to your convictions. What a socialistic place this part of the world would be if everyone had to live the same way.

My husband is ruler of the household, not tyrant of the household. Makes for a much happier household when you both want what's best for the other person, rather than being consumed with what's in it for you. ;)

The reason that sounds ridiculous to other ears, is because most men have become so feminized they can no longer handle such a responsibility.
