Good! - I am eager for news from the people who actually know something about this!
I am pleased that they are holding press conferences now while the interest is high, though we must be patient. The real answers will not come immediately.

I agree.
It's much easier to rush ahead and bash somebody though!

I hope they go into more detail about why a mere 60 degree rise on the external fuselage above the left wing was significant. It was apparently abnormal but doesn't look like a big deal compared to the temperatures underneath (1000-3000 degrees).
Also, I'd like to know how a burn-through into the wing, hot enough to melt wiring, wouldn't have been detected by the internal temp sensors in other parts of the wing. I believe the guy said yesterday that the only sensor registering a temp rise was the one on the fuselage above the wing. I assume the wing is essentially hollow. Maybe it was compartmentalized?

Yesterday's statement about finding remains from all of the astronauts--later debunked--was incredible. I hope they address it today.

Years of warnings went nowhere and as Fred Mertz said. To: TLBSHOW
If this happened in the civilian sector, there would probably be negligent homicide charges filed at some point in the investigation. I doubt that will happen with NASA.
