They don't need to be so graphic. Several of the astronauts had small children and its horrific enough for them.

I appreciate your gesture of respect to have your post pulled. But there is no escaping the reality of the situation, and unfortunatly the media will be all over it.
My concern is for the astronaut's kids, but there will be no way to protect them from the horror of it all.

Let it out, you are dealing with a lot and your body/mind both need the outlet.

Don't have a problem with YOUR post...it's true. Shepard Smith said at least the families will have something to bury.
My problem is with the networks showing some graphic video shots, for a number of reasons.

Sorry to hear about the cancer, as for the lady that cannot locate her daughter if you see again just tell her if she has her daughters ssn all she has to do is call red cross. At the same time hopefully she understands that it depends on her units location, it is hard to receive and send letters and calls.

"If we die, we want people to accept it. We're in a risky business, and we hope that if anything happens to us it will not delay the program. The conquest of space is worth the risk of life." - Gus Grissom, Commander, Apollo 1, speaking a few weeks before his death in the Apollo 1 fire.

It would have been very quick.

It seems almost impossible to imagine going 12,500 mph. That in itself...must take a toll on the body.
And then they release their fuel during entry...

What a day is right. It seems we have gone through a lot of what a day's lately. Hopefully these kinds of days will remind us that we should be united as a nation and grieve together as one.

It's horrific indeed, but some may want to know if any of their remains are found than left wondering..I think they're permitted to bury what's ever left after ID'ing who's what and who's who..

Nice post!
I immediately log-on to Free Republic when there is a crisis or catastrophe.
BTW What on earth can folks be writing to get their posts pulled?

some may want to know if any of their remains are found than left wondering..I certainly am glad to know that some remains have been found. But I feel no need to know the specific details about their condition.
But that's just me.
To: Semper911
I think all our astronauts feel that way. They know it's risky and they know it's worth it.
Please keep posting that Grissom quote.

I just hope we're lucky enough to find all of them. I think it would be better for the families to have a burial.

Over several years as a State Trooper and Emergency Medical Technician, I have seen enough to have a pretty good idea of what they are looking at as far as "remains".
And I DO NOT want to see it!
The Mission Shoulder patch laying in the grass and the scorched, empty helmet staring blankly into space are among the most poingient images I have seen since the fall of the Twin Towers on 9/11/01.
God rest their couragous Souls.
