The same Creator who names the stars also knows the names of the seven souls we mourn today. The crew of the shuttle Columbia did not return safely to Earth; yet we can pray that all are safely home. I lost it on that line. Thank you W

Did they know Jesus Christ as their savior?

Did they know Jesus Christ as their savior?Do you mean the crew? How am I supposed to know if they had Jesus Christ as their savior?
Besides, the message Bush gave wasn't directed to those who died, but to us who survive them. I sure hope I misunderstood your question.

Did they know Jesus Christ as their savior? What's more important is that Jesus knew them. They are with Him now.

Thank you very much for posting the President's words, conservativecorner. What a moving farewell to the shuttle crew! It's so good to have President Bush in the White House in such trying and solemn times, rather than the human obscenity who preceded him.

To your point, the newscaster I was listening to this morning made an interesting comment. He stated that the White House is usually a pretty casual place on the weekends - people come in to work in jeans, etc. But today the place was fully staffed and everyone was dressed in suits and ties out of respect for the fact that President Bush would be in the building today. That spoke volumes to me as well.

"Did they know Jesus Christ as their savior?"
What difference does it make?
Perhaps the Indian woman was Hindu. Certainly the Israeli was Jewish - perhaps someone was Muslim... what's it to you? They were good people and they're dead, and deserve to be mourned whatever religion they were (or if they weren't religious at all, for that matter).

Listening to our President today, I was again struck by how blessed we are to have that sincere and thoughful man leading us. He words were from the heart, without artifice and echoed what most of us feel, deep down.
Of course, the pathetic human debris from the DU and DNC will try and manipulate this tragedy for personal gain, but I believe they will only exemplify their own moral and intellectual backruptcy.
There were a lot of unmarked graves on the Oregon Trail, the Santa Fe Trail and all of the other "Trails" followed by the pioneers who founded this blessed land. The 17 brave astronauts who gave their last full measure of devotion on the "Star Trek Trail" will always have a marker in our hearts.

I listened to the President's words while visiting at my son's home. We all stood and listened, even my 6-year-old grandson.
I have no doubt that George Bush loves this nation, all of its citizens, and the Lord. May God look after him.

One of the cable channels reported that the President had contributed his own quotes of scripture and ideas for the speech. I thought that was wonderful..we know the scripture came from his own heart and not Michael Gerson's. Made it even more special.

Thank you for the ping, my friend. Our President rises to the occasion, yet again.
To: solzhenitsyn
Funny, isn't it? Who gave thought to what it meant that our President had to
tell us he felt our pain. Our current President....just does.
My God bless him and us all.
