Yep. If showed more detail of the pieces as the shuttle disintegrated.
If the shuttle was spinning out of control (as the one of the FNC amateur videos clearly shows to me), then odds are the crew was unable to correct it (meaning they could have already died due to internal failures such as pressure, oxygen, etc.)

Yeah, its all computer controlled. If it started into a spin with those aerodynamic pressures it probably would have started tearing apart before anybody could even react.

It was interesting (please excuse my poor choice of words) to hear from some of the astronauts that had flown Columbia before - I'm willing to bet that they are at least 80% certain of what happened up there but are smart enough not to say.
Continue to pray for the crew and their families.

It looks to me like the shuttle was flying sideways on an early fox video that they only show a very few times.
