Another thread is fine but this one should be for STS 107 Well, at least the beginning of the thread was about honoring the heroes of the Columbia.
Would be nice if we could also end this thread honoring them.

I'm serious when I say I would give my left arm for a trip on the space shuttle. And I would GLADLY do up tommorrow. Heck...RIGHT NOW! My sentiments exactly. :-) Send me up. Whenever you want. Have space suit, will *bleep*ing travel!

I didn't hear it but my husband said he was very critical of the Indian woman.

This makes sense, the video I have seen shows the shuttle in a portside skid, with the nose pointing 90 degrees to the right, yawwed, to the direction of travel. That port wing probably folded up and then it rolled into oblivion...

I can't remember exactly, I've got the mpeg click at work. But he actually said the two words and should have said "curb job" I think. I'll check on Monday, then freep mail you what happened and when or email you the clip if you'd like.... Sorry, can't remember it all.

hmmm... the Palestinians must be leaking their chops. There is an Israeli-US team on board...
You know they are "licking their chops.."
It's a sign from allah! He has avenged us against the oppressors! He has rebuked them and struck them down with his mighty hand! And on and on and on...
They are going to attempt to capitalize on this tragedy somehow.. After hearing it so frequently, I could almost write their drivel for them and no one would be able to tell the difference.
Talk about your "boiler plate" language..

He mentioned something he said from a while before
but I didn't understand, then he apologized for it and
said he may have been misunderstood but it was
inappropriate and he was sorry, there was fanfare
music and then a new announcer came on in his place.
B4its2late heard him say it was inapproprate and as
RummyChick said his voice cracked (as it does
sometimes) so I think he had just been called down
for something.

Somthing along the lines of:
"Of course Bush did this! He needs the bump from the speech he will give for his war on Iraq. HE'S A MONSTER!!"
Actually it was mush worse than that...I just can't remember.
The rats on DUhhh are stupid, but even they aren't THIS stupid. (Wow...I think that's the first time I've ever given one of them a complement).

Well whatever did happen. Let's all pray that it happened quickly and that they felt no pain.
FNC is now showing a large charred area in a field. Very large when they zoomed in.

Dan Rather took a cold call on the air this morning from a guy who said he was from Texas and said he found "Baba Guis" (?)teeth and that Dan Rather was stupid. It's "Baba Booey." It's a reference to Howard Stern's radio producer. Stern "fans" try to call network news shows in situations like this, I think two of them got through to various outlets this morning.
Another Stern fan made Peter Jennings look like a total idiot during the OJ Simpson slow-speed chase several years back. Al Michaels had to come on and gently inform Petah that it was a prank caller.

It called Bush a madman...i think it was pulled not because of what it said but because it was a freeper in disguise

Familiarity and mundanity, positivitst assumptions obscuring rough practical waters -- social and techno entropy -- those will be found to be the cause here, as they were in the Challenger (if not also in the Apollo module that had the deadly fire).

You are correct. I remember laughing to the point of tears when I heard it. He made the comment " I don't know WHERE that came from!" Happened during a Studio B segment.

Never miss an opportunity to promote the hatred of an entire group of people based on the actions of a few do you? (And in this case, those actions haven't even taken place yet).

BELIEVE IT WAS A TERRORIST ATTACK. In my opinion a missle!! ... What are your thoughts?.Impossible. There is no technology in existence that can hit an object at such an altitude and speed. The only terrorist scenario even barely possible, much less plausible, would be if someone somehow rigged something on Columbia before launch. And that possiblity would go against Occam's Razor.

Yeah...I'm a little dissappointed...I thought all of us were better under cover than that. And the person had about 30 posts built-up too!
It was just so obviously a disruptor, it was funny.

Never forget Heinlein's Razor, either (never attribute to human malice what can more easily be attributed to human stupidity).

A couple of kids with a dog are walking all around that smoky field. I wonder if they're in any danger since people were told to stay away from the stuff.

Hey, bite me..
Those maggots said the same thing about the WTC. They are going to use our loss for personal gain if they can.
