February 1, 2003 -- JERUSALEM - Yasser Arafat asked, "Why haven't you killed more Israelis?" and said, "You know what needs to be done," in a meeting with Palestinian terrorist chiefs, it was revealed last night.

Defense ministry sources told The Post that Arafat called for stepping up attacks on Israelis during the meeting in February 2001, according to transcripts that Israeli officials say they have obtained.

Actually, some members of the Nobel committee want to take away Shimon Peres' Peace Prize for Oslo, but they want Arafat to keep his. Something is wrong with this picture.

All true, but no need to make him a martyr. Sharon and Bush are essentially ignoring him and have both publicly declared him irrelevant. He'll never be known as anything other than a failed, two-bit terrorist. Better to let the old f--ker die a laughable death, not one of a martyr.

It's hard to take the Nobel Peace Prize seriously anymore. My husband sneeringly refers to Arafat as Arafat the peace prize winner. I guess they gave it to him because he promised to be good and to stop being a serial-killer of Jews. He lied of course.

Is this the end game of diplomacy or the opening game to the shooting war?

Yes.

I have a question: what do you all think would happen if Israel really did up and kill Arafat?

I don't know exactly, but Israel has very little to lose by killing Ara(pig)fat.

Could the so-called palestinians hate jews any more than they do now? Will they be more efficient murderers with Ara(pig)fat dead?

Arafat is a slimebag. Publicly, he promotes peace; privately, he promotes killing. Sharon should cut off all contact with the PA until they find a new "leader" who won't promote terrorism and violence.

I know that, but they also have little to gain by doing so -- and making the turd a martyr isn't a high priority.

... and last I head, Israel has enough nukes to make any EU attack very interesting...

I would bet what would be a fairly large amount of money that Israel already has several nuclear weapons capable of being remotely triggered [or more likely, prevented from being automatically detonated via scheduled remote input] in appropriate European locations, hedging their bet just in case history might repeat itself.

The Europeans, of course, are wagering considerably more that they have not.

Well, let us consider: Yassir the Egyptian got the *Palestinians* thrown out of Jordan in 1970 with several thousand casualties when he tried to take on King Hussein's armoured forces and paratroopers. Then in 1982 got them similarly ejected from Lebanon, leaving all equipment other than one rifle apiece behind. Following which he rejected the Camp David offer of a permanent homeland for his fellow refugees from Egypt and Syria, and it appears that they very well now may soon be evicted from Gaza and the West Bank, to resume their posturing among the penguins of Antarctica, perhaps.

Certainly Arafat's rhetoric and bluster have been antagonistic toward Israel, but in reality, he's pulled the carpet out from beneath his own followers' aspirations several times at key moments- and ruthlessly eliminated any alternative to his ideas about how their business should be conducted.

Why, at times, it almost appears that he's an Israeli agent of influence....and why would the Israelis want to eliminate their own man?

Arafat is old, senile, corrupt and a road block in the way of a better life for Palastinians. He has a lot of innocent blood on his hands.

Should he die suddenly, no one would mourn him, not even the Palastinians whom he has looted.
