Michael Stinson, a California-based Internet designer, wants the nation's most popular radio personality off the air. He calls his group "Take Back the Media," and has organized a boycott against 24 companies who advertise on Rush Limbaugh's daily show, heard by about 20 million people on more than 600 radio stations.

"They really seem to do need a Nanny Government to survive in this world. I just hope they don't breed very much...."

The only reason I could EVER think of to support the Pro Choice movement is because it helps to limit future DU geeks and democRATS entering this world.

Like I said the other night about this very subject. Don't be surprised if you start hearing the call from the RATS for the return of the Fairness Doctrine.

When you attack what America stands for you are Anti-American. When you take a dictator's side over America's so on. Put makup on a pig it is still ugly.

I think it's kind of "cute" that they are organizing a boycott against his sponsors.

However, unless Rush has recently changed his sponsorships to second-hand clothing stores, seedy used car lots, and health food stores...I just don't see this plan being successful.

From what I've seen of them, the aren't "consuming" much else.

I sent a letter to Radio Shack the other day over this mess. Here's the reply I got.

Hi John:

Thank you for your response.

First, let me state that RadioShack has a long-standing policy of not
intentionally buying advertising space on programs that might be political
or socially controversial or that promote any one individual's agenda or
point of view. While you may not agree, 'The Rush Limbaugh Show" is one we
deem to fall under this policy.

Regardless of what has been reported, RadioShack did not make a decision to
"pull" advertising from "The Rush Limbaugh Show" because we do not buy this
show in the first place. Our media buying strategy does not include the
purchase of specific radio shows that are against our policy.

We do, however, purchase specific blocks of time during a day within a
national or regional buy. If a listener has heard a RadioShack commercial
airing during "The Rush Limbaugh Show," it is simply an error made by the
radio network or local affiliate who is given strict instructions about our
policy and is supposed to block out our radio spots on shows that we deem
against our policy. Unfortunately programming mistakes are made. When we
learn of an error, as in this case, we ask the network or affiliate to make
sure they are complying with our policy.

Simply put, our advertising isn't intended to offend or to exclude anyone
from shopping at RadioShack. The friendly, helpful sales staff in our stores
work hard to earn your trust: I assure you that the last thing we want is
for our advertising to impede their efforts.

Kay Jackson
Director of Public Relations Planning
RadioShack Corporation

Here is the response from one of the advertisers that they are trying to get to boycott, lol.-Brad

Avacor: Says they do not support Rush Limbaugh in any way except for advertising, and they're taking it to the max - imploring every person that writes them to "grow some hair!" and touting their product at every turn.

I found out this is not the number of hits.....it is the site rankings based on hits. Number one is the most hits. Thus, the lower the number, the HIGHER you are ranked and ultimately, the more hits you have. We are ranked around 1000, so we are doing quite well.

Nice spin on his part. Rush has never run any ads on his site except for the Limbaugh Letter and Rush 24/7.

I really don't know. I have always thought of Rush's advertisers as companies who have found their fortune while advetising on Rush's show. I can't imagine any of these guys suddenly pulling up stakes just because some pipsqueak gets some of his pals together and start raising a ruckus.

[Anyone who goes against the pro-war agenda Rush calls 'anti-American,' " Mr. Stinson charged #And anyone who goes against Mr. Stinson's liberal orthodoxy Mr. Stinson calls a "hater".]

"I guess they're even?"

. . .No. . .Rush does not call anyone who is against the war 'anti-American'; only those 'treasonous Americans who happen to be Liberal-Left-America-hating Marxists'; and marching Marxists et al. . .so Stinson's 'charge' is just that. . .

. . .but anyone who speaks against Liberal Orthodoxy is portrayed as a hater of truth (aka LIARS) by the Left; . . .and that is a fact.

Nothing 'even' about it!

. . .which is to say, that Stinson IS wrong. . .and Rush is right. . .

If I find out any of Rush's advertisers are being threatened, I will make an effort to support them, if I'm not doing so already.

. . .and if these Advertisers vistied 'DU' to get a feeling of just 'who' is against Rush and their slimy justifications; they should be happy to stay right where they are with Rush.

Masquerating as 'McCain Republicans'

'McCain Republicans' rates another tirade (I can't maintain my cool whem I see that name before I finish my first cup of coffee). He and the northeast RINOs have sided with the "no drilling in ANWR" DimRAT Socialist "let the UN rule the world" crowd.

I don't see why if as the nanny state lefties say "driving an SUV supports terrorists nations" yet refusing to drill oil in a frozen wasteland doesn't. I wonder what he would have thought if the enviro wackos were going off about petroleum based rubber in the '60s so we were buying the natural stuff from the North Vietnam, at the cost of American lives?

I'm on the East Coast and I'm more worried about who's crossing the border in his state than I am about anything up on a frozen tundra. I'm sure the thinking people in NM feel likewise, only more so. I wish the Freepers back in NM would start the recall his sorry self petition again.

McKainiac is dangerous with his irrational thought process, personal hatred of Bush, and two year old temper tantum maturity level. Mark my words, he's going to go DimRAT or Independant with DimRat leanings before 2004 and try to sabotage Bush's re-election, either directly as a DimRAT VP candidate or full fledged support w/ hope of SEC of State or Defense Cabinet position promise.

A preemptive effort to slow his nefarious designs and schemes should definitely be started now, if not sooner!

On C-Span this morning Brian Lamb was saying something about callers saying they're one thing (e.g. Repub.)and then it becomes obvious they're not what they say. I think he mentioned it's getting bad.

This is the defining tactic of DNC "seminar callers." However, in C-SPAN's case they deserve what they're getting, since they're the ones that intentionally split their phone lines by political party in order to control the debate.

I'm sure they've alienated more of their party faithful than they've attracted.

More importantly, they've permanently convinced untold numbers of independents/undecideds that DU represents the new mainstream of the Democratic Party, insuring that said independents/undecideds won't take any RATS seriously for, oh, the next ten years at least.

He claims all ads except for one have been pulled from the Rush Limbaugh site.....is this true??

I seriously doubt it. Those ads are served up by Clear Channel's web servers, since Clear Channel syndicates Rush's show. And CC is not known for putting up with BS from advertisers. If advertisers started coming to CC in droves demanding to be removed from Rush's site (or his show), CC would simply tell them, "Okay, fine. And while we're at it, we're cancelling our contracts with you on every other show we syndicate and every station we own. Good luck trying to find someone else that can give you 1/10th the audience." That turns the advertisers around pretty quick.

Plus CC likes to sell advertising in big, unbreakable "package deals" anyway. You know, in order to advertise on show X, you also have to advertise on Y and Z and QQQ as well.

In other words, it's going to be damn near impossible for any companies that advertise on Rush to pull out because of this ginned-up campaign and still be able to effectively advertise on radio AT ALL. "Take Back the Media" cannot win.
