Last year I was telling you why the upcoming mid-term elections were so important to the future of America. It didnt have anything to do with the war on terrorism or nailing Saddam Hussein. It was all about the rule of law and the future of the Constitution of the United States.
For generations liberals have relied not on the executive or legislative branch, but on the judicial branch of government to bring their goals for ever-bigger and more intrusive government to fruition. Most liberal institutions, such as that program of systematic racial discrimination we call affirmative action, were brought about by judicial fiat, not lawmaking.
Nobody can be seated on a federal bench without the approval of the majority of the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Last year that committee was under the control of Democrats. Any Bush nominee to a federal appeals court who gave the slightest indication of any loyalty to the Constitution was subjected to a barrage of name-calling and ultimate rejection. The Constitutional principles of limited government power are dangerous to liberal dreams and schemes .. and any judge who might invoke those principals had to go.
Well, the voters came through and the control of the Senate Judiciary Committee has now passed to Republicans. Yesterday the 10 Republicans on Senate Judy outvoted the 9 Social Democrats and approved the nomination of Miguel Estrada to the D.C. Court of Appeals. Democrats are furious. They call Estrada a far-right stealth nominee who will drive the court out of the mainstream. Note, please, that Democrats always want to tell you how mainstream they are and how out of the mainstream conservatives are.
Democrats are considering a filibuster in the Senate. There has never been a successful filibuster of a court appointee. Democrats feel very strongly about maintaining their control edge in federal judges, so I guess well wait and see.
Isnt it a shame that Democrats are so afraid of the U.S. Constitution? Shouldnt we be just as afraid of Democrats?
Because the current approach exposes the judicial fiat desires of the democrats in graphic fashion. I caught some of the chuckie schumer, leaky leahy and babbling boxer display on C-Span replay. They were an embarassment to this Republic, especially when Hatch read the glowing job evaluations recorded by the man Democrats chose to quote in their specious, childish rants against this capable man, Estrada.
Damn straight. A real life, "Mr. Smith" fillibuster. Bring in the cots! Make this Headline News! All Fillibuster-All the Time on Cable!
And oh by the way, Senator Frist, make sure that the vote scheduled after the Estrada vote is AIDS Relief for Africa.
So the whole world can watch the dims delay medical relief to Africans because they're too busy screwing over a Hispanic.
And, I must add, there is, IMHO, over the past several decades, an evil force behind and driving the Rats.....that force does not make me afraid but, rather, drives me to my knees in prayer, that this evil will not be allowed to spread any further. This evil force is attempting to ruin our country and blinds and deceives the (most all) Rats.....
