FYI. I have little doubt Al Qaeda would try this on either the USA or UK. I suspect we're going to find out they got the radioactive materials from Iraq.

Boy, you're just full of all kinds of good news, aren't ya....? :-) Well hopefully Daschle is now going to be a good boy and sit in the back of the room. This is not a time for his partisan hysterics.

This doesn't really change anything, even if true. We've been operating under the assumption that these weapons are in the posession of terrorists.

Hmm; where are the Vanguards and Ohios? I hope at least one is back in port having its Tridents fully MIRVed, with at least one somewhere in the weatern Indian Ocean.

Hopefully, their bomb will detonate, shall we say prematurely, like some of the Pali jack-leg devices. That would be a shame.

( Iraq has not accounted for 20,000,000 envelopes worth of weaponized anthrax.)

I have little doubt Al Qaeda would try this on either the USA or UK...Ivan, I have anticipated since 9-11 a third strike, probably nuclear.
1st strike- conventional ( aircraft as flying bombs )
2nd strike- biological ( anthrax )
3rd strike- atomic ( either dirty bomb or actual nuclear detonation )
In the FWIW department, I'd include Israel in the target list, simply because they are so hated, but no Western nation is immune.

I am of the opinion we will have to tell the Arabs that if one of these goes off in a Western city, we will nuke Mecca in retaliation. We'll give them time to get their people out, but such an attack can only be met by vapourising the centre of their religion.

You're far too nice. I'd give them as much time as we got, and I'd add a few "enhancements" to the Trident that has Mecca in its targeting system.

Agreed; we won't see this reported in the mainstream press but we'll see Mandela's rant against America. A let's get them before they get us bump.

Agreed. I've had just about enough of this crap. It's been going on long before 9/11. Nuke Mecca, instead of reacting by visiting mosques and proclaiming what a "peaceful religion" Islam is.

I don't know about this story. I heard it was near impossible for Western spys to infiltrate Al Qeada.
If its this easy to spy on this group, especially around 1999, then why didn't Clinton direct the CIA to do this and get the same intel Britian did. Instead of fire a couple Tomahawks in the general direction of Bin Laden
