Do you have a reference for this? I spent a couple of weeks in Capetown last October, and the people I dealt with (mostly Afrikaners) seemed content.
South Africa does have a high crime rate. White farmers in the "outback" (veldt?) are being murdered, which is obviously causing some disquietitude. Capetown itself has a crime problem.
However, property values in Capetown are rising due to Americans and Europeans moving there due to the low cost of living.
South Africa is no Nirvana; nor is it Zimbabwe.
