WASHINGTON - Iraq sent spies from Canada to New York and Washington this month to snoop and stir up anti-war demonstrations, according to a government report obtained by the Daily News.
The classified document also reveals a plot by Al Qaeda-linked militants in Zimbabwe to attack American targets in that country and elsewhere if the U.S. declares war on Iraq.
It suggests the group, Tablik Ja'maat, could be a "conduit for communication" between Osama Bin Laden's terror network and Iraqi leaders.
The threats, disclosed to U.S. spy agencies yesterday, are detailed in a secret report prepared by an intelligence unit in the Homeland Security Department.
It comes as the White House weighs the release of classified information to prove Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein's links to Al Qaeda and efforts to evade UN weapons inspectors.
A source identified as a member of the Iraqi opposition told U.S. agents that Iraqis in Canada were ordered to recruit Arabs and other foreigners for espionage missions in the U.S., the report said.
The Iraqi Embassy in Ottawa sent operatives to New York and Washington with instructions to "intensify spying activities and to carry out anti-U.S. demonstrations to stop a war against Iraq," the report said.
The report said the Iraqis were willing to spend "large sums" to back the effort.
The report also describes a plot by Tablik Ja'maat to carry out "coordinated attacks" against U.S targets in Zimbabwe if war is declared on Iraq. Other attacks, revealed by the group's leader at a Jan. 18 meeting at a mosque in Harare, would take place in Pakistan, Indonesia, Nigeria, Turkey, South Africa and Israel, the report said.
An Associated Press report last week said that the FBI is looking to question as many as 50,000 Iraqis living in the U.S. to root out potential spies and terror cells.
Really? Say it isn't so ... how could that be?
But ... but ... but ...
Is there some pattern here, of fascist Islamics operating from fascist nationalizing socialist territories made destitute by the benefits of socialist directorates made up of "social progressives?"
Who'd a thunk.
Spies!!??
What spies he be tawkin' 'bout??
Help us out here will ya? How should we answer anti-war protestors?
The "Anti - - Anti-war" Wave. What Should It Be? What Should It Look Like?
Cowboy boots are a Southern solution. (lol)
I was reading the Philadelphia Inquirer in the doctors waiting room the other day (Nope, wouldnt spend my hard-earned on the rag, but was curious to see what the enemy was reporting these days).
Came across an anti-war advertisement, declaring February 13-21 a Week of Anti-War Resistance. The banner on the advertisement read: Support self-determination for the people of the Middle East! (Good thing the doc didnt need to take my blood pressure too soon after I read that particular obscenity.)
With the exception of Israel, where, exactly, do these (useful) idiots think self-determination exists in that particular part of the world? (Hint: the answer is nowhere). They know full well that each and every country in that area of the world is run by an autocratic regime, bent on relentless (often violent) subjugation of its own people.
But these (useful) idiots also know that (1) the concept of self-determination has a nice ring here in America, (2) the average American knows very little about the state of the world, much less the absence of freedom in the Middle East in specific, and (3) there is a distinct possibility that the subversion of purpose, as occurred during the Vietnam era, may well be capable of being duplicated yet again. After all, the American people are no better informed than they were thirty-five years ago (as a matter of fact, they are decidedly less so), and their individual critical thinking abilities have taken a dive as well.
This advertisement also paid tribute to Phillip Berrigan, describing him as having devoted his life to courageous opposition to militarism and war .... [he] put his body on the line in the struggle to call attention to the inherently evil nature of weapons of mass destruction produced by and for the U.S. military industrial complex .... It would be cowardly and foolish to turn our attention away from the open threats and plans to use weapons of mass destruction that are issuing from the White House, not Iraq, and are embodied in the new Bush military doctrine. We must stop the Bush Administration from threatening and killing the people of the world, who are not our enemy.
Yep. I wrote it down. I discovered in college that, when I had difficulty comprehending something I read, sometimes writing it down and reading it again later (when my mind was perhaps in a more receptive state) made it more comprehensible. This time it didnt work. (I guess my mind can still discern the inherent difference between college Calculus and Marxist anti-war propaganda).
Those who put together this pathetically duplicitous ad simply need a handful of ignorant (yet glib) talkers (of the Ed Asner/Barbra Streisand/Jesse Jackson/Ramsey Clark/Mike Farrell/Rob Reiner ilk), plenty of media coverage (should that be hard to come by?), and the anti-war bandwagon will receive a significant shot in the arm.
Facts? Who needs em? All you need is a semi-ignorant audience, a catchy, humanitarian-sounding slogan or two (support self-determination fits the bill nicely), lots of chutzpah and glibness, and a bunch of microphones and television cameras on call, and youve got it made.
Only trouble is, the stakes are a whole lot higher now than they were during the Vietnam era. Lets hope the Marxist sympathizers dont win the public over to their side this time. If they do, there may not be another opportunity to ignore their lies.

That's for now, but a change of status could occur in a week or three.
Obviously you are referring here to the impending doom of Saddam Hussein.
Do you dare venture into how that event will detract "Taliban" Patty from her support of him (or her followers support of her)?
That means a lot of mosque visitations.
