Reading the Times was part of my daily routine from 1965 up to @ a year ago. Most of the people I knew during those thirty-five years did the same. This was regardless of political leaning, it was what educated New Yorkers did. Now I cannot bring myself to even pick it up. I do read the Sunday paper but only the Real Estate, Travel, Book Review and Magazine. I don't even read the Arts and Entertainment section anymore because of the politics that have crept in. I am certain that there are thousands in the NYC area who have made the same decision.

Me too, and I'm a NYer who's in the industry! As much as there is to admire about the paper, I simply cannot give them money anymore. Period. Howell Raines and his loonies are hell-bent on leaving fairness behind, just like Time, NBC, CNN, even National Geographic - heck, just about any media outlet that has no dissenting voice left on board anymore. Sad, sad, sad.
