The bee did not say that Scott was carrying around a drink. I remember clearly that the bee said that Scott was at the prayer vigil but did not sit with Laci's family. He was seen holding a candle and laughing and smiling with friends. I am sure the article can be easily researched. I would take anything Scott has to say with a grain of salt. After all he already proved how he can lie. When the bee reported there was another woman, he called it a "pack of lies". But who was lying????

Good point. I think the alleged offending article was posted somewhere on these threads, but I can't for the life of me remember when or where.

Correct, the Bee did not say he was drinking. They also did not print that photo of Scott smiling until several weeks after the vigil, only when things went south for Scott. Actually, the only place I ever saw anyone ever "say" Scott was holding a drink was on forums like this, which tells me Scott has been a busy little chatter bug, hasn't he? I clearly remember someone saying Scott had a drink in his had and another poster reposting the picture to point out that although he was smiling/laughing, he was holding a candle in the cup.

Now we know why he was always "responding to emails" in the Volunteer Center every day--the police had taken his computer, and it was the best access he had to follow the pulse on what people were saying. Bingo.

I was the one that mentioned on a thread on FR that every time I see a photo of SP he is holding a drink in his hand, and when I first saw the picture of him at the New Years Eve vigil I thought he was holding a drink. Texasbluebell corrected me on the same thread. Several people on that same thread posted about SP's demeanor on that same photo regarding the big smile on his face.

SP might have his news source mixed up. When I heard him mention this last night bells went off. If he read that in the Modesto Bee, then the Modesto Bee got it from our thread on FR, or SP got it from the thread on FR.
