I watched this as it happened today and there was one guy there that looked like he wanted to crawl under his chair while Rummy was talking about people not checking a story before running with it. It could be because he was looking right at this guy while he was talking. But the SecDef was magnificent, IMO.

The more I hear Mr. Rumsfeld speak, the more I'm convinced he is the greatest asset President Bush has in his administration. General Myers needs to grow some cajones. He does not strike me as a confident general. I think "Rummy" senses this as well.

Rumsfeld: Yes, you could get any one of those people that I deal with and talk to them privately any time you want. The problem is, you're hearing from people that for the most part I don't deal with, it seems to me.

I loved this briefing today. Wonder how many clintonites are still in DoD that he (Clinton) placed there before leaving? I also agreed with him on the work that is done in DoD has to be first rate -- our military deserve no less! Am sure some of these folks got used to eight years of doing what they wanted and no one seemed to care. Well a new day dawned so if they cannot deliver, they need to find a new line of work.

My two cents!

I heard the guy asking the question about Rummy running roughshod. He was snide and antagonistic and I was so glad he asked.........cause Rummy gave him a good whupping!!!

The man is a hero to many many Americans which is why the media is beating up on him these days!
