Yes, but due to fumes from burning plastics, not from the laundry list of pharmaceuticals in post 336.

Mayor of Kinston now on WRAL.
To: russdawg
He was purporting to know more than he could possibly have known, and was warning about the toxic cloud, etc... but I think we can safely asssume he was fantasizing. At least the moderator thinks so... ;^)
BTW.... Prayers for all involved....

Yes, they're saying burning rubber and that they fire is in the rubber part of the plant.

A previous comment provided a link to their own web site, which claims that they produce "vaccines." There could be more to this than meets the eye. Then again, there could be less. We simply don't know. Better safe than sorry though.
Speculation, indeed.

I assure you that we have noone in our community able to create any vaccines unless they are for the swine industry. this company has been here for years and they produce parts for syringes. nothing top secret around here

Thanks! That's good to hear!

What this Pennsylvania based company makes at its multiple facilities in far flung locations has no bearing on what is made at the facility in question. THIS plant makes delivery devices only, per various major news sources.
To: Burr5
I cannot get to their server, but I read the quote from the website. I THINK that if you read it closely, it does not say that it produces vaccines, etc. It produces "technology" which advances their manufacturing and delivery, e.g., a patch or something.
I could be wrong, but my list of 89,000 drugs currently on the market lists a lot of vaccines and biologicals, but none of them manufactured by West Pharmaceuticals. My list is up to date through December 15.

Yes, they're saying burning rubber and that they fire is in the rubber part of the plant. All the hydraulic oil in the machines is helping keep the fires buring as well. Some of these machines need 50-500 gallons of in order to operate.
I have a bad feeling this fire will be burning for some time.

FOXNEWS just said 8 dead and 12 injured most of those critical. I just heard that on Cavoto!
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach
Local stations finally confirmed 8 dead. It was just weird that the locals weren't saying anything.
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach
Woman on WRAL seems to indicate upwards of 20 people have been brought to hospitals.

Rubber fires are very difficult to extinguish. I used to be in the auto salvage business and one of our competitors would have a bi-annual tire fire to get rid of his bad tires. They would burn for days.

That's good to hear.
I didn't say I knew what was going on. Oddly enough, I don't always know:)
But there aren't really any answers one way or the other yet.
This thing is so horrible (ain't gonna be just eight, I bet) that I wouldn't be too upset at the prospect of blaming it on someone at this particular moment in history.

Lets hope they did not make the delevery device for the smallpox vacine or are the main supplier of supplies needed in the event of a major medical emergency.
Question: If we have the smallpox vacine for everyone in the country do we also have the delivery means also?
