Hey did anyone else notice the guy next to Carl Levin? He looked like he was sleeping.
To: hole_n_one
Oh my, you caught THIS?
By this point I'd stopped watching the thread, just wanted to listen to the President. You ARE GOOD!

Sheesh...over 1500 posts! I decided to just sit and watch and listen to the speech without trying to run back to the computer and post. I thought it was fantastic and he moved me to tears a number of times.
W, you done good!

Well under your pugilistic Irish facade, you are an old softie grandfather who spoils his grandchildren. Thus you are an easy grader. This cold calculating merciless atheistic WASP gives no quarter. Thus my grade. Few get that grade however.

Bush to Saddam: "TAKE IT, B***H!"

Thanks for the thread. While watching it struck us so profoundly to see the mean-spiritness of the Dems remaining seated. It came to us that some of the Democrats hate for BUSH exceeds their interest and hope to help the American people.

...when his hair falls out?"I'm sure Trafficant would be willing to loan his toupe to Kerry. I don't think he needs it anymore anyway. Or Kerry could just glue some roadkill to his head.

Cripes, I gotta quit talking to you. You're getting scary. LOL

He is the president of all the people, which some around here forget. Haven't had a chance to read the thread but your words paraphrased what I never thought I'd hear from Juan Williams. He said he was truly moved by the "human" man standing in front of the nation. He was particularly touched, not so much with aid to Africa but when Bush discussed mentors, helping kids whose parents are in prison and on drugs. He said here was a man "who was truly IN TOUCH with all we're facing as a nation be it the economy, health care and terrorist threats". I thought I heard his voice crack and he even caused Britt to pause. His reaction was truly remarkable and something I will never forget. Let's hope he doesn't as well.

I rated the SOU a A-: He did an outstanding job on the international issues, an equally great job on the environmental/domestic issues, but, he was a bit weak in justifying the proposed tax reductions. Granted it can stimulate the economy; but, that is only true is we can find a credible mechanism to pay for it. It is also not entirely clear which economy would be stimulated. Is it the US or the greater global economy that we are trying to stimulate?
An excellent speach though. I am glad to see the UN put in its' place.

You are sooo right!! Just look at the difference in their eyes in those pictures! Bush looks so honest and humble, and Clintoon looks shifty and squinty!!!
To: StarFan
