And this picture-this JOYOUS picture of two happy, once enslaved women, receiving the license to drive-is so pure, so heartening, so touching and revealing of what is happening all over Afganistan...that it DESERVES a picture on the front page of USA TODAY.

Isn't it about time our publications start showing some of the wonders happening in Afganistan after the taliban pigs were routed?

Wouldn't Americans LOVE to see these women, this joy? Wouldn't our fellow citizens love to know the smallish steps (to us) but HUGE steps to once enslaved Afganies that are now ongoing there?

Why doesn't our press corp publish this joy?

I'm stating the obvious, but, it's because then they would have to admit that Afghanistan _isn't_ the Vietnam-like quagmire they all predicted _and_ that our nation's invasion there has had nothing but positive results for those poor people.

*Why doesn't our press corp publish this joy?*

I can only think that it must not sell enough papers for them. Sad commentary on the public and the media, huh?

A positively valid question though. Why CAN'T this good news come out?
