Her DNA would be all over everything. As for the blood, unless it was a large amount of blood it could come from anything. Especially in the kitchen. And even if there is enough to prove a violent scene, they need something of Scott's located in some way as to implicate him. Even a hair from him in found in a wound on her(if they found her body) could have gotten there from some surface during a struggle.
They probably have something like fish-blood residue in the boat and are hoping it is more interesting than it probably is.
I hope they find something that ties someone to something or at least gives us a better idea what happened. As bad as it is to think about it, if they found some placenta or amniotic fluid, even traces, with blood in a cleaned-up kitchen, we would at be able to eliminate a host of possibilities that involve her being alive at the time of her disappearance. Amniotic fluid in the truck, the boat, or at his work would pretty much seal it.
I would be interested to see if anything ties any other family members or friends to the disappearance, maybe he had an accomplice.

Is the truck driver who saw Scott driving on the highway credible? He said there was a woman with dark hair in the front seat-she had her chin down to her chest.

Scott probably thinks if he keeps his trap shut, and they don't find a body, Wasn't one if the motives supposed to be the insurance policy? If they don't find a body he would have to wait a few years to collect. Actually I think Scott is an accomplished liar but even the girlfriend isn't a motive. He just met her Nov 20th and she has a child. Wasn't one of the theories that he didn't want a child?
Let's face it. Scott is a cheater, a liar but I know many men who have cheated on their wives and didn't kill them. There may be more women coming forward to say he had an affair with them, but I can't get the idea out of my head that this has something to do with the baby, more than Laci.

Is Walsh senile or just being politically correct?? He's talking to the murderer! Why didn't Walsh just pick up the phone and call in a tip to his show! He could have collected the reward!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL

I saw an investigative report about San Quentin last night on MSNBC. Peterson and Westerfield won't stand a chance there. It is a brutal hell hole.

It makes more sense than anything else. The woman in Ohio who was kidnapped and had her baby cut out, was much like this one, she even looked like Laci.
Of course, Scott could be the "stupidist man alive", who took out a double indemnity insurance policy and then hid the body so he could never be paid, who actually dumped the body in the water at the place where he told the police he was at, making up the absolute flimiest excuse(fishing alone) he could think of, etc. Either Scott is an idiot, or it just doesnt fit.
A baby stealing kidnap is consistent with everything that has been found so far.

It will be interesting to hear what Scott and Amber said on those phone calls after the disappearance of Laci. Good for Amber for having the cops listen into those calls.

The floor isn't the only place they may have found blood. For instance, if they found Laci's blood on the mop in any quantity that would suggest more than a cooking accident or a leg-shaving cut, witnesses could testify whether or not they saw Laci at any time with a bandaged finger or hand, or whatnot, to counter any claims that Laci bled in the house in any significant quantity at an earlier time. Finding blood on the mop would suggest that Scott cleaned it up. To suggest that a stranger in the house would take the time to clean up a bloody mess stretches the bounds of credulity.
Don't forget the possibility of blood spatter evidence, also. Blood spatter on the walls or ceiling (which would show up even if it was cleaned up and painted over) would be hard for Scott to explain since he told police there was nothing unusual in the house when he came home. They can tell fresh paint from old paint, and they can tell high-velocity blood spatter from a splash or a smear.

"If I kidnapped a pregnant woman, cut out her baby, and then killed the woman and buried her, I would hope that the police, the media, and everyone else would spend all their time trying to build a case against the husband."
I would also be wondering why her husband was acting in such a guilty way. I'd be saying how lucky I was that the husband had just taken out a big life insurance policy on the wife. I'd be thinking about what a heartless man he was talking to his girlfriend about going to Europe even after his wife had disappeared.
Boy, what a lucky kidnapper I am.
Now where can I sell this baby?

Sounds like he's pulling a "Condidit." Never got anything out of him and he's still home free!

I agree. I think some posters here are reaching. SP is guilty of murdering his wife and unborn child. Period. No voodoo queen killed her while ripping the baby from her womb. Geesh!
In order to ascertain that any blood, tissue matter, or other dna material belonged to Laci they would have to have a verifiable source material to compare it to (such as her body).
If they didn't have such a source, they could type both her parents and develop a probability quotient that the dna was hers.
Still, unless tissue can be identified as internal tissue that could only have been ejected from some form of severe trauma (brain matter, artery or vein tissue etc.,) I think the prosecution might have a difficult time linking it to her "assumed" murder.
Of course if they found her blood type in such a volume as to suggest a person would die from such a blood loss, it would probably be self-evident to a jury that she was dead. But of course, the question would still remain as to who killed her.
No body, no witness(es), no confession, they both lived in the same house, he has made no statements indicting himself, he has a lawyer. Just based on a lawyer being able to convince one juror of reasonable doubt, I would say SP will walk.
I predicted to Queen Jadis weeks ago that you would quickly see the house up for sale (and it was) and that he will most likely leave the state (if not the country) within a month or so if he is not arrested.

I'm with you, Texas Mom. That was one of the first things I thought about. It's happened before. Until they have more proof of Scott's guilt, I still say innocent until proven guilty. That's the American way. He may have done it--he may not have. His silence is deafening.
To: Doc Savage
He might be putting the house up for sale to pay for his attorney.
I still don't think the need a body (although it would certainly be better if they did) if they found blood in sufficient quantities in the house, as you said. Let's say they found a large area of blood that would lead jurors to conclude that she is dead. In order to raise doubts as to who killed her, you would have to believe that an intruder took the time to clean the house before taking off with Laci's body. Even if they tried to point the finger at other family members or acquaintances, these said family members or acquaintances would have to have less than airtight alibis.

Thanks for the ping, runningbear.
From the article: "'Peterson's parents had agreed to be interviewed for the show, but changed their minds after talking to Scott,' Walsh said....'Scott's father called up and said he agreed it was time for Scott to start defending himself,' Walsh said."
Hey, everyone--PROGRESS is being made here!

A perfect example of the misdirection of icnentive in this
thing is the terms of the reward...Does any one seriously think there is a possibility of a safe return...nothing more than going through the motions..all that energy wasted...
Somebody saw something....somebody knows something that will help...Human activity does not happen in a vacuum....

I saw the same program! It was a real eye-opener. Shocking! Brutal! Maybe Scott saw it too?
Westerfield is on death row, and doesn't get turned outside to have to watch his 6 oclock. If Scott gets the death sentence, he'll be isolated, won't he?

John Walsh, the host of TV's "The John Walsh Show" and "America's Most Wanted," said he has pleaded with Scott Peterson to answer questions and make a public statement.
So he's pulling a Gary Condit eh?

Scott's accomplice could be the person who INTRODUCED him to Amber....as a Single guy!!
To: Texas Mom
You guys can't be serious!!! Family members...friends...spouse turns in someone with a new unexpected 7 1/2 month old baby!! Come on! Scott would be shouting his innocence from the ROOFTOP..ala..Richard Jewel. SP is as guilty as OJ....without the starpower.
