Kibbeh (had it once, pretty good), Meshwi (never had it), Hoummos (also known as "Hummus" and a staple of vegetarian restaurants. Its a spread made from ground chickpeas and olive oil, into which pita bread is often dipped. VERY tasty, depending on the chef), Tabbouleh (ditto Meshwi), and Kounafa (popular with Egyptians as well. Basically an Arab version of Pizza, made with sweet cheese and often enjoyed as a dessert with tea. Highly recommended by Clemenza).

hmmmm, okay I did a little research:
Kibbeh, a Lebanese dish made from freshly ground lamb and/or beef, spices and lots of mint, can be eaten baked, fried or even raw like a tartare. This baked version is kind of like a Middle Eastern style meatloaf.

I think that meshwi means it is kabab-ed; skewered grilled meat.

Taboulleh:1 cup bulgar wheat, 2 cups boiling water
Pour the boiling water over the wheat, cover and let stand for 1 hour. Remove the excess water by pressing the mixture in a fine sieve. (It seems to be used alot in salads. Apparently like a "cracked wheat salad".}(I think I have had this, or something similar.)

KOUNAFA pastry (shredded baked wheat dough filled with cheese, cream or pistachios, covered with syrup). *This does sound good!!!

It isn't that I wouldn't want to try or taste these foods, it's just that they made it sound like it was so well known all over the world... like KFC. Actually, I think some of this sounds pretty tasty!! Even the chicpea dip!!:)
