Did I hear her right?
Did she really say that the US gave the UN and countries of the security council veto power over the US national security policy?
That's what I thought I heard.

Irregardless of what she said, that is basically what we did. By going to the UN, we gave away our decision to hit Iraq. We go in now without UN permission, there will be a scream world-wide.
It could very easily be that the month or two of toadying to the UN that Sadaam will use this time to send over some terror weapons to his henchmen here in the United States. This has been a very poor thought out war. The rhetoric started and Sadaam was given too much time to prepare for it. The UN has contributed by delaying the outset, and still we wait while our markets and economy deteriorate while Sadaam has time to prepare.

That's what I heard her say. Even Stephanopalous asked her why the UN should have control over US security. The woman has bats in her belfry.

No, meenie, that's not what we did. Though we asked the UN to take this up, we did not give them any authority over us and our decisions.
To: meenie
Somebody may have already said it, but the proper word is "regardless" in all circumstances.
Irregardless is not a word.
It's sorta like "strageriery" or "misunderestimated".

I'm not sure who this woman is speaking for...
She certainly doesn't speak for me.
To: Eric in the Ozarks
Oh, she's no doubt speaking for those same people that Barbara Lee "speaks for"...down there in the SF Bay Area. That place I thankfully escaped from a few months ago. (People where I used to live actually have bumper stickers on their cars saying "Barbara Lee speaks for me"...absolute morons.)
To: XBob
I'm CERTAIN that "PROGRESSIVE?"Nancy would like that just FINE!
To: vannrox
That's Right but(unfortunately)so did ALL of THE SENATORS who refused to view the evidence against"BeelzeBubba"that Henry Hyde and the other managers pleaded with them to review during the Senate Trial?"!!!!!!!!!!!!
To: Clara Lou
Thanks very much - "That's what I heard her say. "
I thought I was perhaps dreaming. But we have then indeed, elected total fools as our leaders.
Amazing - as Pogo said - we have met the enemy and he is us.
