He pardoned all the draft-dodgers. I don't recall him pardoning a single deserter. Jimmy hated all the people who actually went into the military during the war - didn't cut them any slack. His only heroes were the cowards and traitors.

I used term "deserter" for the people who ran to Canada to avoid the draft, before and after being notified. Not sure what they were officially called.
