As further proof, Fields videotaped the goose that Griffin claims attacked her harassing other parkgoers. The video shows a man hitting the bird near the head to make it stop attacking him.

I think...no, make that feel this goose needs to be forced to attend sensitivity training for the harassment then sent to jail for assault and battery.

Anyone familar with geese out there in FR land? Are they aggressive birds?

I have geese.

When one of his "wives" is laying eggs, Bob T. Gander can be quite a nasty little jerk.
Of course, he *is* just doing his fatherly job so nobody faults him for it.

*But*, a "goose attack" is little more than wing flapping and pecking.

I'm just a 5'3" skinny little woman and if I couldn't "fend off" a "killer goose" I think I'd just lay down and give it up.
While all their ruckus may look impressive, it doesn't actually hurt.
It's all sound and fury, signifying nothing.

On the other hand, I'm a hillbilly who grew up on a farm and commonly had to dodge angry cows with calves, vicious hens with chicks, nasty bulls and savage sows with piglets.

Maybe I'm just real hard to impress, "critter attack"-wise...:)

Not aggressive until you get in it's territory when it has young. But it is a GOOSE, for cryin' out loud! The WORST it can do to a human is peck them with it's dull, rounded beak.

Oh yeah. The African Gray geese I used to have would walk up and bite you if you turned your back on them. It was comical watching them chase passing cats and dogs out of the yard and on down the road.

You better believe they can be aggressive. I encountered a flock on a golf course one time, and one big sucker charged at me. Thought I was going to lose a 7 iron fighting him off.
