I don't know but if the evidence LE has is strong and considering Scott's action's after the fact I might try to at least get a plea bargain to avoid the death penalty. I think Scott's conduct has severely damaged his chances at trial.Sometimes family has more input than you think. His mother has already been hospitalized.Query is he a cold bloode psycopath or did he just snap under the strain of leading a double life? I don't know if he has the ______
to go through a trial and watch his carefully contrived image be destroyed with an axe. He is a narcissist for sure and he is not going to hold up too well as his mask crumbles. Just my feeling.

Remember in the Susan Smith case, they announced a press conference, then announced Smith had been arrested.

Amy Rocha, Laci's half-sister, was the first to step up to the microphone Friday, but could only get out, "This past month has been the most painful time I've ever experienced," before she became overwrought with emotion and stepped aside. In a written statement to the media afterward, she called on Scott Peterson to cooperate more fully. "While I trusted him in the beginning, I now believe that he has lied to our family," the statement said.

Wow, maybe you're right..if they do, and he did it..I hope he'll reveal the location of the body. :( I have this feeling they are going to make a brief comment to squash some rumors...and nothing else.

I'm one of Savage's biggest fans, but don't always agree with him. He loves to complain all the time, which is why I love to listen to him.

But in the interest of D-I-V-E-R-S-I-T-Y, Michael, please be kind and allow middle class America to help solve the mystery of the poor missing Laci Peterson? Is it OK, for us to still care about one missing person? Do you want us to be sheeple and accept the husbands story when we can possibly help her family keep this case from growing cold? Naaahhh, Michael. He did it.

Oh, man! Peterson STOPPED communicating with Laci's family? Sorry, but that smells bad. If he was genuinely concerned about his wife and he had nothing to hide in regards to her disappearance, he would not have cut off communication with them.

I was not able to watch the family press conferance and judging from what I have read so far I'm glad.
Laci's family consists of what MANY other families in this area are. Hardworking, loving, loyal, and compassionate people. They are the VERY best type of people you could ever wish to have as a friend, much less a family member.
That said, they are ALSO Portugese,(sp) and therefore, can also be very emotional. It did not surprise me in the least to find out about Laci's assault charge as they can have a fairly explosive temper. If SP did this the BEST justice would be to let Laci's father have him.

Maybe the MPD just feels strange that Laci's family was out there on their own, and they are just doing a follow-up assuring the public they are still on the case.

For me to think they have Scott in custody, is getting my hopes up.

IF Scott's family withdraws their support of Scott, he might fold. But this guy isn't going to turn himself in.

Why is it that Laci's brother can cry, Laci's sister can cry, Laci's mother can cry, but Laci's husband and the baby's daddy doesn't?

People do grieve in different ways, BUT (and this but is as big as Hillary's), he has been incredibly, unbelievably emotionless through this.

Anger (ala Polly Klaas' father) would even be preferable to a stoneface.
