Who Sold What After the Embargo? (Blood Pressure Enhancer)
Tageszeitung ^ | 1/21/03 | unknown

Iraq’s declaration of its weapons programs contains explosive news for Germany, a Berlin paper has reported. The dossier is said to detail covert arms deals between German defense firms and Iraq.

Just as the heated debates within the German government over the role of German troops and equipment in a possible war against Iraq seem to be cooling down, another potential bombshell threatens to reignite the fires.

On Tuesday, the Berlin-based left-wing paper, Tageszeitung reported that aspects of the 12,000-page Iraqi report on Iraq's weapons programs, submitted to the U.N last week, could prove highly embarrassing for Germany.

The newspaper - believed to be the first to have access to the top-secret dossier - has written that the Iraqi declaration contains the names of 80 German firms, research laboratories and people, who are said to have helped Iraq develop its weapons program.

Now to see if a French paper does the same. I think the countries most opposed to this removal of Saddam all have something to hid. Looks like the German Government has a lot to hide.

I keep thinking back to the experiments they did in WWII and now they are involved in WMD -- really scarey -- maybe we should be investigation Germany as well!

That explains why the Germans are acting the way they are!

It does but in balance it must be remembered that the USA built up Iraqs weapons stockpiles during the 80's and early 90's before the gulf war. That is how we know Iraq has anthrax, vx gas and other biological and chemical agents now. Supposedly most of these were destroyed after the gulf war. It appears the sanctions and embargos have been circumvented by several nations hoping to cash in economically and the discovery of their activities is like finding the smoking gun in their own backyard. Somebody got some 'splanin to do.

I know we were on the side of Iraq in the Iraq/Iran war. What bothers me is anything that was done after the Gulf War. That is unforgiveable IMHO!

From another thread:

Titled "French Connection", Michael Mönninger's article says it's no wonder that France is against a war with Iraq — French business interests are worried about losing their lucrative deals with Baghdad, especially the oil giant TotalFinalElf. Following Iraq's invasion of Kuwait in 1991, France's exports to Iraq collapsed but now there're spiralling upwards — worth a record 660 billion euros last year, compared with 398 billion in 2000

I agree with you there, assuming this collusion is true which I feel it is.

yup... the "why" behind this little menagerie is they sold the iraqis EVERYTHING they needed for nukes "boys" and "girls."

And Iraq has MOST likely already built and secreted them away to their partners in terror. Al quaida, hamas, hezbollah the egyptian 'brotherhood' types and who the hell knows who else.

GERMANY has been plotting against us. Not for their own gain, but our destruction. They hate jews and white guys who speak english... and they are still pissed about WW2.

Some of them that is.

France is just stupid... drunk... and perverted, but also hates jews and the evil white english speakers of the world.

Russia Germany France China North Korea Iraq Iran Syria... does this come as a surprise to any of us? HELL NO!

And they have armed thousands upon thousands of terrorists against us on one level or another, from a governmental level. This is MORE irritating to me than the evil house of saud and the hijack, murder bombers of 9-11...

ARGGGGGGGhhhh!!!!
Somebody (apopleptic fits) get me my pills!

Here is the article from the German paper ran through a web based translation, German to English. So it will be in error I'm sure in some parts......

You can bet that the US intelligence service has known about this for several years, ie. during Clinton's watch. And probably nothing by the US was done about it during that time.

I can begin to see the emergence of new strategic alliances. The UK is and always will be out ally. We have the strong support of Spain and Italy. Meanwhile, we hit the masterstroke by securing the support of former Soviet Bloc countries such as the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary. Russia is squeaking but will not oppose us. We will therefore freeze out France and Germany, in effect making them strategically irrelevant to the US. This will leave Germany and France scrambling to salvage a EU without a relevant military counterpart. At the same time the UN will be consigned to the dustbin where it belongs.

I don't believe that is true that we built up Iraq's weapons stockpiles during the 80's and 90's. Iraq was getting their weapons from the Soviet Union and France. Remember all those tanks we blew up, those were Soviet tanks. Likewise with Hussein's air force, it was all Soviet and French made. If you have a link that says differently, I would like to see it because I do not think we supplied them with weapons. We gave them tactical assistance during the war with Iran, but I believe that was about it.
