U.S. Naval Medical Research Unit Three (Cairo, Egypt) Jan. 19, 2003 -- Adm. Vern Clark, Chief of Naval Operations (CNO), assists U.S. Naval Medical Research Unit Three's (NAMRU-3) Master Chief Joe Diaz with signing his reenlistment contract. Master Chief Diaz, the Command Master Chief of NAMRU-3, will have 42 years' total service upon completion of this reenlistment. The CNO was in Egypt on an official counterpart visit at the invitation of Vice Adm. Tamer Abdel-Alim Mohammed, the Commander in Chief of the Egyptian Navy.
