This Could Explain Scott Ritter

Over the weekend, I saw a story about former United Nations weapons inspector Scott Ritter being arrested on some kind of Class B misdemeanor sex charges. If I were Ritter, I’d just say, “Hey, I was just doing research here.” It’s the Pete Townshend defense. I'm surprised that this bothers anybody. These reality TV shows showcase and celebrate deviant behavior every day. Ditto daytime TV.
Sunday’s Washington Post ran a story about all the “hooking up” in high schools and colleges. There's no love involved or relationship sought, people just seeking making love buddies out there. Our culture now embraces doing whatever you want to, and the last thing you want to do is remember who you had the good times with or any of that.
Once you have a president having oral sex with an intern barely older than his daughter in the Oval Office - while on the phone talking about sending our men and women off to die in Bosnia no less - a teenaged sex scandal should be no big deal. I'm halfway joking here, but part of me is serious. Of course, we've all wondered why little Scottie has done a 180 on what he originally said about the evil Saddam Hussein. His mantra now is that the Bootlicker of Baghdad doesn't even have the capability to make one of those Rambo knives, much less chemical or nuclear weapons. It's bizarre - but blackmail for something like this (or a sack full of petrodollars) could explain it.
We Had Bubba, Why Not Hartpence?
I'm just surprised at the selective application of morality: certain things bother us, other things don't, and you’re a closed-minded 50s throwback if you think they do matter. This is exactly why it's safe for Gary Hartpence to get back into the run for the Democratic presidential nomination. He says that he’s cleaned up his life after Donna Rice, but judged by our current moral standards that's the wrong thing to say. He should say, “I’m still seeking Donna Rices out there.”
After I mentioned this, I received a caustic e-mail from a disappointed listener who says I converted him to a conservative, but he thinks it was beneath me to pass on this Ritter story without details. Jeez, all because I might have said that the girl he was involved with was looking for a heat-seeking moisture missile! I probably have said less in condemnation of Ritter than anybody else who's spoken on this. In fact, I said I’m surprised it’s a big deal - but you can read the facts for yourself in the links below.
After what he hopes has been a settling hiatus - Gary Hart(pence) (original name) has announced his possible run for the presidency, thus, he is back in the news ...

Suffice it to say - he's the one, he's done, his attorney confirmed it (there is even VIDEO by a TV station of his arrst), he was req'd by the court to attend counseling, and we're now just waiting for delivery of the fork ...

WHAT indicates to you that he was taking this 'lightly'?
Weren't they cops, posing as young girls? No actual physical or emotional victim in this case (not saying several aren't lurking out there, but...) - maybe that's part of the reason people aren't ripping their shirts and tearing their hair out. Just a thought.

The post you have regarding our TV station is wrong. The tape we have is of the mug shot of William Scott Ritter on the day of his arrest on June 22nd, 2002. We are airing this tape and continue to air it. It is also on our web site. We have no tape of him being handcuffed. If we did have it we would air it without question. I would appreciate a correction to the post regarding this or perhaps you can just post this note. Paul Conti News Director, WNYT .It sems there is no 'tape' of Ritter 'in handcuffs' or being 'handcuffed'.
In the first place, they married in 1994, long before the Internet became commonplace. And they had been dating for a couple of years before that, so your little tale is just bullsh*t.
Here's some advice: Don't spread gossip. It makes you look like a li'l pissant.
Whatever the case, I distinctly remember the months leading up to Rush's surprise nuptials--in 1994--when he dropped veiled hints about meeting "Codename: Jaguar" for dinner over the weekend, etc.
Later, he revealed that she was a divorced mother of two children from Jacksonville, Fla.--hence the "Jaguar" bit.
They met, I believe, when Rush was doing a book signing in Jacksonville. It was quite innocent, and quite run-of-the-mill.
There was no "Internet chatroom" (which for all intents and purposes didn't exist in 1992-93, when Rush and Marta met and began dating).
