>>The resulting diplomatic crisis was resolved when North Korea's leader, Kim Jong Il, entered into an agreement with the Clinton Administration to stop the nuclear-weapons program in return for economic aid and the construction of two light-water nuclear reactors that, under safeguards, would generate electricity.<<
When I saw this, I just about lost my lunch. It was not resolved, and the agreement was one of the dumbest the United States have ever entered. Give North Korea technology that they can use to produce plutonium, just ask them to promise not to, and have NO WAY TO VERIFY. CLINTON is responsible for the current situation. Personally, I don't believe that his administration was stupid. Certainly not this stupid. They knew.

The genie is out of the bottle and beginning to grow legs.
Anyone for a beach party 'On The Beach' in Australia, and moving to the outback?

This article is completely twisted.
Does Hersh expect anyone (except perhaps himself) to believe that by delaying "public announcement" of N. Korea's infractions of a Bill Clinton treaty and giveaway, that GWB becomes somehow indicted for that massively naive treaty?
Does hersh think there's something wrong or deceptive that the WH delayed "public announcement" of N. Korea's admission that it had egregiously violated that treaty?
Frankly, all this article demonstrates is that Hersh is a liar, a shameless manipulator of fact, and a very unconvincing shill for Bill Clinton, whose complicity in this problem is obvious to all, no matter what Hersh would have us believe.

"There is an awful lot of Al Qaeda sympathy within Pakistan's nuclear program," an intelligence official told me. One American nonproliferation expert said, "Right now, the most dangerous country in the world is Pakistan. If we're incinerated next week, it'll be because of H.E.U."highly enriched uranium"that was given to Al Qaeda by Pakistan.
And Alqaeda has promised a nuke attack recently.
