The whole controversy is crazy. We ought to have slavery museums in appropriate places because it is history and heritage, we should have battle field museums at battle fields to remember battles and soldiers because they are history and heritage, we should continue to fly and display the flag because it is history and heritage. Everyone is attempting to bend history to fit their own modern political agendas. It's a disservice to the memory of the slaves, the Confederate soldier, and the Union soldier to be pawns in modern political games. Those who attempt to change history are doing violence to the American memory as a whole. There is enough good, bad, valorous, heroic, and sad for every side just as it is.

Unless the Confederate flag flies, forget the museum I say. I don't want one part of the history blotted out, while another part gets all the attention.
