[history]
Kristin Smart, 19, of Stockton, disappeared May 25, 1996.
San Luis Obispo detectives are looking at Scott Peterson in connection with the disappearance of a college student nearly seven years ago.
Peterson, husband of Laci Peterson, went to Cal Poly at the same time as Kristin Smart, who disappeared May 25, 1996.

thanks for the heads up.

The problem with the blood found in the house is the fact she lived in the house. Her dna is everywhere in her own home. I wonder the amount of blood found?

No I don't, it was in a discussion on Alt-true crime thread that I read , I'm sorry, I thought I made that distinction. They are discssing that Fox News had reported that, I did not see it.
To: Rusty Roberts
Thanks. I did hear on Fox that they "knew" each other but didn't hear they dated. Can anyone confirm that?

Okay, maybe I gave him to easy a pass on this one, ;-)
I'm certain he's good for the crime, I just think some things are explainable without culpability. DI, that is questionable, I agree.
I also agree about the difficulty with blood in the house, as we know if the person lived there, there are always reasons for the blood, especially in a kitchen.
Want to hear more about the tarp and the testing they are doing on it. From what I gather, they've said very little about this tarp, but I suspect they can tie it to Scott, thus all that diving last week. There is some reason, that tarp is important to this case.

If memory serves, in California you cannot take out an insurance policy on your spouse without their signature. Also double indemnity would\should be a red flag as people do not usually do that anymore as it is so expensive, insurance agents would not encourage that, they would instead try to get you to increase the amt on the policy.

Fox reporting the blood found in the kitchen is just tiny specks...

$699.25 Price of the Beast plus 5% state sales tax Thanks. That seals it. Not our boy. California's sales tax is 8%+ and has been since before this email was sent.

On Fox news, apparently Kristin Smart and and Scott Peterson knew each other. At the time of the investigation into Kristin Smart's disappearance the police sent Scott a letter requesting and interview (they went to Cal Poly together) SP never responded.

Well, well, well. The plot thickens.
Again, if you had a friend (or wife!) who went missing, wouldn't you want to help police find her? There seems to be a pattern of behavior here.
I'll take the next step. What was the nature of their friendship? Acquaintances? Did they date and for how long? What where the circumstances of the breakup? Did she start dating Paul Flores right after? Do we know she went into the dorm and went to bed after Paul Flores dropped her off? Or did she get a phone call, run into *someone* who wanted to 'go talk' or party some more that night? Not unusual for college kids. Many scenarios opening up here, including that this could all be a coincidence (likely not).

Nothing more to say
According to police records obtained by The Examiner, Flores had a black eye the morning after Kristin disappeared. First, he told police he got the black eye during a basketball game. Then he said he got it fixing his car. Later, he told friends that he had made up the basketball story because he thought it would "sound stupid" if he told police he didn't know how he'd gotten the black eye, the affidavit said.
After those interviews, Flores refused to talk with deputies again and, when called before a grand jury, entered and left the room within five minutes.
Two months later, San Luis Obispo County sheriff's deputies searched the campus with three dogs trained to detect the scent of human remains.
The dogs led investigators to Flores' dorm room, to his mattress. But no evidence was found at the time.
"Because of inconsistencies in his activities, or claimed activities during that period, we believe he has further knowledge about what happened, and he is a suspect in her disappearance," said Sgt. Bill Wammock of the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department.
"This has been a frustrating case for us, for the parents, for the press," Wammock noted, "because we don't have an answer to what happened here."

I'm still interested in Scott leaving ASU.
So...I've just been tinkering around on the web...and look here...
ASU Men's Golf had placed first in 1996. And if you had been awarded a golf scholarship as a freshman, and were one of the few lucky men chosen to be on a team who'd just won a national conference, how many reasons are there that anyone in their right mind would just up and throw something like that away??? Not that SP has a normal mind, though...
NCAA Men's Golf Champions:
1990 Arizona State
1991 Oklahoma State
1992 Arizona
1994 Stanford
1995 Oklahoma State
1996 Arizona State
1997 Pepperdine
1998 UNLV
1999 Georgia
I don't know...just thinking aloud. I sure hope someone has Scottie on a suicide watch.

Murder = Life Insurance = Money
Let's not forget that DIVORCE=CHILD SUPPORT=ALIMONY. More motive for a murder.
To: getmeouttaPalmBeachCounty_FL
Me too. He left for reasons "unknown to the family". However, I suspect the police may not really think he had anything to do with Kristin Smart's disappearance...perhaps it is a ruse to get Scott paniced so that he will confess to his wife's murder.
To: Scupoli
It is suspicious...but i still think Flores is their man.
To: getmeouttaPalmBeachCounty_FL
Very interesting.
