[VANITY] What can Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator do that Mozilla cannot?

I just downloaded and installed Mozilla and it seems to be better than the Explorer 5.5 I had been using.
What is the downside to this? It seems to do everything I used explorer for, plus it has killed all unrequested popups, yet permits popups that I request (like tvguide).
Is there something I'm missing here?

Also available on the Mozilla.org site is Phoenix (currently in beta). It uses the gekko engine (like mozilla) but is a smaller, faster browser. It also kills pop-ups, supports tabbed browsing, supports extensions to the UI, and lots of cool stuff. It loads FAST.

I wish I knew who else to ping.

If it is smaller and faster, why wouldn't I automatically want that one, rather than Mozilla or the others?

It was your comments on another thread that got me trying Mozilla. Dallas recommended it, but Dan you said you don't like it because it doesn't do everything.
What gives? I've never used anything but Explorer (beginning with version 2.0), but lately it is getting ungainly and awkward to control. Can you run down pros and cons for me?

It's still a beta piece of software. Ultimately you will want to switch.
Also very good is Konqueror. Originally developed for the KDE desktop fo *nix platforms, Apple is basing the new Safari browser upon the code. If you do Unix, give it a try.

Well, I'm really trying to understand the differences, not start a pissing contest.

"Can it cure cancer or AIDS yet?" No, and neither can IE, troll.
To: Petronski
The current release of Mozilla is pretty slow. I like some of it's features a lot, like tabs, but the speed thing annoys me.

Too bad you can't get a sense-of-humor transplant. You could use one.

I use Moz 1.0 and sometime have problems with sites that use JavaScript windows. I have to bring up IE5 for that. Otherwise, I like the pop-up kill ability in Moz.

Cool new thing in Phoenix - a drop down lets you choose how your browser IDs itself to a website. You can choose IE 5.5 or 6 and many sites that ban other browsers suddenly work! A good way to fight back at the monopoly enablers!

I use Panicware's
Pop-Up Stopper which is totally free."Ad purger" is a 30 day trial.

Is Mozilla another evil capitalist enterprise like Microsoft? All hail Linux. It will free the workers.

While Mozilla is my browser of choice, it can be a hassle getting plug-ins to install and run properly. You probably want to keep IE or Netscape around until they work out some of the bugs on this.
Tabbed browsing and cookie controls make it worth the effort. (I use a separate program to control pop-ups in all of my browsers.)
