Let's see, the Crusades, Salem Witch Hunt, The Spanish Inquisition, and if you would actually use that organ at the top of your neck, you would reach the conclusion that those hijackers were 'religeous fanatics'.

And this may come as a shock, but historically speaking, most terrorists were using their stategy to free their comrades, or support a revolution. Lately, the terrorist push has justified itself by doing as I described prior to 9/11 ...'Those who would espouse their religion, faith or superstitions upon the public...'. Try thinking before attacking, I know it takes time; but it's worth it.

The Crusades were a attempt to stop the murderous rampage of the Muslims and make the middle east safe for travelers.

The Salem witch trials (1690) were perfectly LEGAL in CIVIL court at the time.
Just be glad you live in the US today.

The Inquisition extracted confessions of heresy but NEVER executed anyone. The heretic was then handed over to CIVIL authorities for punishment (prison or execution by a LEGAL method at the time.)
