Most wedding guests just throw rice: Not the men of Matsunoyamamachi, Japan. They throw the bridegroom -- in this case, hurling him down a snowy slope. The tradition dates back to Japan's Edo Period (1603-1867), when a group of local men tossed a groom who married a local girl out of revenge.

"In the eyes of a child, you rank right up there with God. You have all the power to heal a boo-boo, scare away the monsters under the bed, patch a broken heart, police a slumber party, ground them forever, and love them without limits, so one day they will, like you, love without counting the cost."

"LOL! You noticed the smaller critters, did ya?"

How could I miss them? They were in the foreground, and definitely jumping around and begging for attention!

"And let me take a moment here to compliment you on how well you did while you were in charge of "crumbs". Our transportation was always returned in a spotless condition, mainly due to your taking your job of "Crumb Monitor" most seriously. Job well done, Tex. "

Awww shucks ma'am! I appreciate the high praise! Tonk's transports are always so wonderful, that it is an honor and privilege to try to care for them properly!

I posted this in early December, but with events in the news today, I thought you might enjoy my little doggerel again.

SADDAM

Saddam was a man
Who thought he had a PLAN!
that would confound UN's Hans Blix
But what knocked him on his tush,
was President W BUSH!
Bush made a push instead
against that town of Bagdad!
Our guys unloaded
their shells exploded
Saddam came apart
like a noisome green fart.
And that's the end of Saddam!

"Guess who passed out when they did the blood test"

Does this mean you won't be doing this anytime in the near future?

"After some searching they found what the problem was and are going to fix it."

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

"Had some very interesting conversations with WW II AND Viet Nam Vets on van trip up and back."

Super!!

You shop well, Beth.

Out the door for home. Freezing rain this afternoon. I will be tiptoeing home. Back in a bit. Play nice.
