I suspect this woman is retarded. Based on what? I suspect she was morally retarded. This was an act of evil, not stupidity.

Well, apparently the 'journalist' was probably concerned about her delicate feelings and her self-respect. After all, she did lose a son recently.

most horrific story of selfishness imaginable. Hardly. The same story is acted out 4000 times each day in abortion facilities. She just had a (very) late term abortion, and for the usual reason: convenience.

I doubt that she was retarded, and I doubt that she was bi-polar. I don't doubt that she was selfish, self-centered, cold and heartless. I also wonder if she was an illegal. (As long as we're listing all the things they didn't mention, we might as well throw that in the hopper.) If she was retarded or bi-polar, they'd be using that as her defense. Also, I fail to understand why the first things prosecutors want to do is plea bargain when there isn't a reason in the world to lower the charges or the penalty. When a case is this flagrant, fry her! Do it for the chilrun.

Interesting that you mention orphanages. Didn't they castigate Newt Gingrich for even daring to use the word? Actually, I agree. I'd think not only should orpahnages "come back", I think reinstituting "poor houses" would be a good idea. Our "homeless" could then live in dignity with a warm bed and three squares. I should point out that dear Liberal Seattle is going that one better. They're building a multi-million dollar apartment house for winos. Each wino will have his own private publicly funded apartment, and there will be no restrictions, oversight or penalty for drinking. This is a vicious discriminatory program though, because free booze is not included.

My father was adopted from an Augustana Synod orphange. If abortion had been legal back in 1918-19, I might not be here today.
I myself "attended my parents' wedding" (if you know what I mean) back in July of 1952. If abortion had been legal prior to March of 1953, I might not be here today.

My story is similar. My parents (a couple of really dumb kids with nothing in common), married on a dare. The last thing they wanted was kids. When I was born, they left me at the hospital. An aunt came and paid for me, and took me home and raised me. I'm sure if abortion had been legal (in 1933), I would not be here today, nor would my five kids, ten great-grandkids and three great-grandkids. I was raised near a very good orphanage (Christs' Home in Warmionster, Pa.) and it was a loving home with a good education for unwanted and parentless kids. It was certainly superior to some of the terrible cruel parenting out there today.
