Put on your tinfoil beanies for this one.

In the interest of protecting his own business, which was also suffering from the bandwidth interference, WTP's provider reluctantly removed them from his server on Monday afternoon. As soon as he did so, his full bandwidth capability was restored. Total Information Awareness at work for you.
Or at least the IRS.
To: JohnHuang2
Many think this guy is a nut, and maybe he is. But, the IRS has to be terrified that this movement will one day take root. On that day, Atlas WILL shrug, and socialism will be doomed. Until then, until WE cut the government off from their precious money, we will continue to live as slaves.
To: JohnHuang2
Surely they could find enough people willing to mirror the file(s)?
To: Chancellor Palpatine
Sounds like this guy is as knowledgeable about TCP/IP bandwidth as he is about the Internal Revenue Code...

But not too dumb to be a successful con artist.Nope. That just requires you to be SLIGHTLY smarter than your victims, and for just long enough to pocket their money.

Total Information Awareness at work for you.No, it's the ISP's network managers trying to keep one user from slowing down the entire network.

Either that or they don't want the bad PR from having their ISP linked to a clear scam artist. They kick out child pornographers and cooperate with the FBI, IIRC.

Either that or they don't want the bad PR from having their ISP linked to a clear scam artist.Doubtful. The "Make Money Now" websites are still out there.
Schulz's description of how many users he thinks he can handle implies that he paid for a T-1 line into the backbone.
The problem is that if you have a lot of subscribers, you're multiplying your bandwidth usage on the backbone providers exponentially. Time/Warner was probably getting f-bomb-filled emails from sysadmins on other backbones
A simple solution: pay for a T-3 line (44mb/sec). But that's a lot of money. Far cheaper to blame unspecified "censors" for the problem.

No, it's the ISP's network managers trying to keep one user from slowing down the entire network... ...because of the DOS attack directed against that one user.

...because of the DOS attack directed against that one user. The "DOS attack" was caused by the subscribers to the multicast.

This carny barker is going to end up in court swearing he was merely distributing his "tax advice" for "entertainment purposes".
I wonder if he sells Colloidal Silver too

He should get a T3 line.
To: JohnHuang2
Wow! That is really scary. If the government would interfere with that type of website, how long before they start messing with other freedom-promoting sites...including this one? The restriction of information concerns me a great deal and I think all the whining coming out of the democRATS of late is powerful testimony to the fact that the powers that be are starting to get very threatened by an informed public who might actually demand that the Constitution be upheld. I don't think it would be only the democRATS that would be a threat either if grass roots activism began to seriously cut into either the power or the money that until now has rested safely in the hands of the government for many decades now. The ongoing survival of the power structure, however, is dependent on a relatively ignorant populace and the experience of this well-informed and benevolent webmaster should be raising red flags for all who love freedom.

"He should get a T3 line."
Which is cheaper, getting a T3 line or blaming an unspecified group of conspirators for your problems?
The whole idea behind having a T3 line is that the backbones are EXPECTING that much traffic getting injected into their infrastructure.
