USA Today-POSSIBLE LINK BETWEEN RICIN TERROR SUSPECTS AND IRAQI GOVERNMENT
USA Today 'The Nations Newspaper' ^ | January 16, 2003 | Wire Report

Posted on 01/16/2003 6:59:48 AM PST by ewing

The United States Government has indications that the men arrested in Great Britian with a traces of the poison Ricin are linked to a terorist group in Northern Iraq, a senior Bush administration official said early Thursday.

The offical, speaking on condition of anonymity, refused to elaborate on evidence linking the men to Ansar al-Islam, a group which other US officials have said is linked to both al Qaeda and possibly Saddam Husseins government in Iraq.

The United States says the threat of Saddam delivering chemical or biological weapons to terrorists is the main reason for threating war against Iraq if Saddam refuses to give up weapons of mass destruction.

Perhaps not.

This is an just AP report.

Do a search on Goggle news and you'll see the same thing word for word in:

Bath Chronicle, UK
Lincolnshire Echo, UK
KFOR-TV, OK
WLOX, MS
WPMI, AL

Etc.

"This is no smoking gun". Hans Blix

"While this is troubling, the administration has shown us no PROOF of Iraqi involvement, and that is obscene. It is the wrong clue, from the wrong messenger at the wrong time." Tom Daschle.

Actually the only real value of this left wing rag is to use it to cover your floors if you have a new puppy or to put on the bottom of your bird cage.

Then they can leave their appropriate nuggets on it.

Often the so called free copy that we get in motels and hotels is not free. Regardless, when I check in to a motel, I tell the clerk that I don't want even a free copy, and I will not pay for a copy.

Exactly. This is one of many parts to the smoking gun. Just look at how methodical the President was in stating his case against Iraq to the UN.

No, there is an assemblage of Arabs who fled Afghanistan that have taken up residence in Northern Iraq and are mounting attacks against the Kurds.

I'll admit I do look over USA Today - usually because it has the best national sports coverage, and good entertainment coverage, too.

There are all kinds of Kurds. Commie Kurds, regular impartial Kurds, Pro-Iranian Kurds, and so on. But this seems to make things a bit clearer:

The offical, speaking on condition of anonymity, refused to elaborate on evidence linking the men to Ansar al-Islam, a group which other US officials have said is linked to both al Qaeda and possibly Saddam Husseins government in Iraq.

The northern part of Iraq is Kurdish. Are they saying that the Kurds are the ones with links to bioterror?

There is a theory that the terorist camps that were closed down in Afghanistan were reopened in remote parts of Northern Iraq...not necessarily involved with the Kurds.
