I recently saw the video by a rock group from Alabama called 3 Doors Down. The name of the song is "When I'm Gone," and it is definitely something you wouldn't expect from a music act these days. The video was partially shot during the group's goodwill tour of naval installations overseas associated with the 5t Fleet in the Middle East, Spain, and Italy, and on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. George Washington. The video shows the band performing, to what I believe is a crowd of service men and women, and shows clips of men and women from the various services saying good bye to their loved ones, and of our military in action. I was proud to see a mainstream music act to a tribute to our men and women in their military, and to their loved ones. At the end of the video, a message flashed up on the screen, saying the video is dedicated to these brave people. The group's website (link above) also has a link (Message To Our Troops) where you can write messages to troops overseas. The response to the video has been very positive, as a letter from a military wife states under the news section of the site.

This band needs our support after the support they have shown our troops! I saw them in concert at my university, and they are great live! They have a new album which came out in November, and it recently went gold, and they have been nominated for a Grammy for "When I'm Gone." Try and go see this video on MTV2 or VH1!

I recently saw the video by a rock group from Alabama called 3 Doors Down.
FYI, it looks like the group claims to be from MS, not AL.
From the
3 Doors Down website's Bio section:
"
3 Doors Down were back in the real-life Smallville that spawned the band back in 1996--Escatawpa, Mississippi, a mere hellhound's leap from the crossroads where Robert Johnson sold his soul."
Anyway, thanks for the heads-up. I can't wait to see this video. Patriotic rock songs would be a nice change of pace. Maybe now Wrangler won't have to edit the hell out of old songs like CCR's "Fortunate Son" to find something to use in patriotically-themed commercials!

Kid Rock's "Lonely Road of Faith" USO video is also excellent.

I think its a joke. Sort of like admonishing a user named Jim Robinson for posting vanities.

But it
would be a perfect cover for a disruptor, would it not? Raise thousands for FR, then post something disruptive when least expected.
I never said disruptors had to be smart, did I? :-)

Thank you for posting this thread and the links to the video. I was searching for something else and this came up and now (of course) I am crying my eyes out.
God Bless our troups that fight for OUR (including the scumbag peaceniks) freedom and the families that love them and wait for their safe return.
