Hope is all volunteers have to lean on

No matter how dismal the reports are from police in the Laci Peterson disappearance, people at the volunteer search center are holding out hope that the Modesto woman is alive.
Their optimism comes from friendship, prayer and the belief that they should always hope for the best.
"I look at her picture and call my friends whenever I'm feeling down about the case," René Tomlinson said Wednesday. She is a friend of Peterson's who staffs the center at the Red Lion Hotel in Modesto.
"We hope she will come back home safe. That's what we would like," Tomlinson said.
Peterson, 27 and eight months pregnant, has been missing for more than three weeks. Police say time is working against them in a case that investigators believe involves foul play. And, since last weekend's fruitless underwater search at the Berkeley Marina, police have had nothing to report.
Meanwhile, at the volunteer center Wednesday, Diana Edwards crafted blue-and-yellow ribbons for people to wear, in the effort to keep the Peterson case in the public's eye. She said she believes someone abducted Peterson to steal her baby -- due Feb. 10.
"I've thought that since the first day," Edwards said.
The first day was Christmas Eve, when 30-year-old Scott Peterson reported that he came home from a fishing trip and could not find his wife. He said he last saw her at 9:30 a.m. that day as he left for the Berkeley Marina. he said she planned to go for a walk in East La Loma Park with their dog.

Regarding the pinging of the Marina you mentioned on the other thread: is it normal for them to be pinging out there, or is it unusual, as if they're looking for something?

No, that is only done when they are searching for something. BTW, I was referring to last week, they aren't out there after finding the anchor.

What's even worse than the fact this woman is missing is that so many other cases of murdered people in the surrounding area are being brought to light as they search for her.
Where I live we have maybe one murder every couple years or so if that, to read about all those being killed is a bit shocking, even though I'm fully aware it goes on elsewhere. But still you never really get used to hearing about it.

yeah, sort of like their ghosts coming back to seek justice on those who committed the dastardly deeds.. I am searching for more stuff. What I am looking for, not sure, but will know when I read it. Trying to connect the dots sort to say, or maybe just a wild notion.....

There is a message board link at the bottom of that story, if anyone is interested in reading the posts.

There is a message board link at the bottom of that story, if anyone is interested in reading the posts. Nevermind, I thought there might be some local people posting there who knew something, but not much there. Sorry!

Wow, I couldn't see his pic, but just audio. But listening to the audio clip, no quevering in the voice, just plain smooth talk, no stress factors I can tell that he is distraught over this. On the question Jodi Hernandez asks, SP replies, not answering the question, but reflecting it off to another subject matter, Laci and lets keep the focus on finding Laci. etc....
I am on a dial up, with pc loaded too much at home, can a freeper tell me if this is audi only? Jodi Hernandez stated a few things in this report, that needs attention to question family again, SP, volunteer stating it is scary, and some avoidance in reporter's questions to him.

Thanks! I viewed it and pinged with the list.
Maybe that would should be, 'dirt alert'......lol.. Ah, stuff is happening now, but slowly! How true, but don't know, all pending with the final puzzle pieces being fitted together.
Now, I am beginning to know why SP hired that attorney, motive is developing!
