Newly-crowned Nobel Laureate, former president of the United States, former governor of Georgia, and now, the next senator from Georgia?
Thats the rumor about Jimmy Carter circulating around the Peach State after Democratic Sen. Zell Millers surprise announcement that he wont run for reelection next year.
According to Democratic sources, Carter was so offended by the tone of last falls Senate campaign in which Republican Saxby Chambliss defeated Democratic Sen. Max Cleland after questioning the patriotism of the quadraplagic Vietnam war hero, that he wants to make sure Democrats dont lose Millers seat.
However, if Cleland, who was Carters choice to head the Veterans Administration during his presidency, decides to run again, Carter would not run, according to the sources.
But former White House Jody Powell says he doubts very much that his old boss would make a run for the Senate. He can accomplish much more right where he is, said Powell.

What's with the Democrats? First Lautenberg, then Mondale, now, possibly, Carter. It's like "Jurassic Park" with these guys. Now, now, now. Frabk Lautenberg, Walter Mondale, and Jimmy Carter are the future of the Democratic Party now that Mohammed Atta is dead.

Run Jimmy run. It would be fabulous to have a Republican kick his sorry incompetent stagflation creating, Iranian hostage taking,Soviet Afghan invading, North Korean nuke appeasing ass. You mean again?
Reagan did that in 1980!

Formers Jimmy and Billy:
Thank you for your service. You may now retire and rest. Really. We really don't need you any more.
Okay, since you can't take a hint, let me put it to you a tad more succintly: go home, rest, don't call us, we'll call you. Really. We mean it.
Signed,
The American Public

"What's with all the "bring out your dead" (ressurrected, ancient, decrepit) liberals? Can't they reproduce?"They can, but they abort their young or turn them into tree hugging queers.

Jimmy Carter?! The 'RATS can't be serious. They might as well recruit Jane Fonda or Ted Turner. At least these two liberals can self-finance a campaign.
If Carter jumps in the race, I think this open seat can be a likely GOP pick up.

A recent poll showed Carter in second place after Bush as "most admired", most likely because of the Nobel Peace Prize.

"If Carter jumps in the race, I think this open seat can be a likely GOP pick up."No doubt. Carter is just another of the Democrat undead. He should stick to pounding nails for Habitat For Humanity and keep his mouth shut.

"This picture of Jimmy Carter's daughter Amy would certainly give credence to THAT theory:"It's a well known fact that Amy was sitting in a tree when her old man asked her what to do about nuclear weapons. A sort of reverse evoloution.
Amy probably has a prehensile tail that we will fortunatly never see.

From the Amy Carter link above:
(Amy) Carter also illustrated a children's book, "The Little Baby Snoogle-Fleejer," (Times Books, 1995), written by her famous father.
I am so very, very sorry to know this.

Hilarious. Look for McGovern to run in South Dakota. Speaking of has-beens, anybody know if John Tunney is still alive?

He should be touted for a toilet seat...

Hasn't the Naval Academy recalled his class ring yet? He's sunk nearly as many ships as the Japanese Navy did when he was "Pres." Now some BOZO's want to run him for Senator?

Yikes!!! And how. To quote Terry Jones in Monty Python's "World War II Noises" sketch, "Oh, she's ugly, sir. As in 'not attractive to men'."

ROFLMAO.
"Plant a tree, a bush, or a shrub!" (And if you ask me what that means, I'll hunt you down and hurt you!)

(It's yet ANOTHER good day to be a Republican!)

It could be the 'rat party. Brain dead place holder in the Senate.
Or, some idiot ex-aide.
My bet is on somebody in the press just trying to stir up something to write about.
IMHO, whoever is "floating" this story should be charged with making terrorism threats.
