Well, yes, that was the 'fishing expert' we were talking about. Who is he and is he the only and ultimate word on sturgeon fishing in the Berkeley area? I'll bet you could find any number of other experts who would disagree with what he said.

They have been pinging the area outside of the marina near the old pier. Inside the marina off the boat launch the quarters are pretty tight.

Sightseers Find Decapitated Body Near Southland Highway Authorities Investigating

LOS ANGELES -- Authorities are investigating the discovery of a decapitated body of a woman near an Orange County highway Wednesday morning.

Two sightseers found the body just off the Ortega Highway near the Cleveland National Forest, according to Jim Amormino of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

Authorities initially had a hard time getting to the body, which was in a remote location, according to Amormino.

A roadblock has been set up on Ortega Highway, according to NBC4.

A man and a woman were driving along the highway sightseeing and saw what they thought was a mannequin, Amormino said. They called authorities, who found a torso.

"A torso which was decapitated in a deep ravine (was found) ... off Ortega Highway. The body is in an inaccessible location," Amormino said at at press conference late Wednesday morning. The incident appears to have " happened fairly recently ... Both hands have also been cut off ... We have not located either the head or the hands at this time," he said.

"It is going to be tough (to identify the body without the body parts)," he said.

Amormino said the body appeared to have been tossed into the ravine from a nearby highway turnout either Thursday night or early Friday morning.

A search and rescue team was called to retrieve the body because it was inaccessible to deputies, Amormino said.

Well, I shelled out the $2.49 for the Natl Enquirer dated Jan 21, 2002, and there's an article in there, but it doesn't have the info EnquiringMind posted.

Just the stuff about the drapes being closed, and Scott being freshly dressed and he may have mopped the floor. Quote: "Modesto cops have been checking tips that Scott, who traveled a lot, had a girlfriend, and that Laci may have been seeing an old boyfriend." Lots of may, may, may.....

VC, I can't get worked up over Enquiring Minds post. Untill it appears in writing and is corroberated, it is little more than gossip.

had the same thought regarding the state of the body showing advanced signs of pregnancy.

I sure hope they find her body (assuming she has been murdered). Obviously I have major doubts as to the innocence of Mr. Peterson. I only hope he didn't dump her body in the bay and that by now it has been carried out to sea. The longer this goes on the more I fear that we may not know what happened here for a long time...if ever.

Hubby's girlfriend calls police and asks "why are you showing pictures of Scott Patterson and what's this about a wife - he's divorced" (or so he told her)

Is this the reason Scott won't appear on TV, and is rarely photographed?

Queen, I think that IF Scott did it, he will crack up under the pressure. There's not a whole lot of wiggle room with this crime, albeit the lack of a body is a BIGGIE! LOL.

Yeah,Lanza, they know if it's her or not. But my gawd, what a horrible crime in and of itself! You'd think there would be more coverage of someone found dismembered?!!

Perhaps someone who was desperate for a baby abducted this woman.

This happened in Illinois in 1995 to a woman named Debra Evans (I think that was her name). She and her 2 young children were murdered and her unborn child was cut from her womb. The child was recovered and a man and woman were convicted and sentenced to death for the crime. Well, that is until this past Saturday when Ryan commuted their sentences to life.
